Today's Legislative Activity - AB2222

AB2222 (Koretz) was voted on Today, April 23, 2002, in the Assembly Public Safety Committee. AB2222 FAILED TO GET ENOUGH VOTES TO PASS!
To all of you that repeatedly contacted the legislature in opposition to AB2222, THANK YOU ! ! ! Your efforts were successful.

AB2222 would have banned and/or heavily restricted the ownership, possesion and use of .50 caliber rifles.

AB2222 failed due to the votes of members of the Assembly Public Safety Committee from both parties.

Voting "NO" were Assembly Members Washington (Chairman), Dickerson, Keeley, and LaSuer. Abstaining was Assembly Member Diaz.

ACTION REQUESTED: Please contact these Assembly Members and THANK THEM FOR NOT SUPPORTING AB2222.

Washington, (916) 319-2052
Diaz, (916) 319-2023
Dickerson, (916) 319-2002
Keeley, (916) 319-2027
LaSuer, (916) 319-2077

REMEMBER, saying THANK YOU is as important as asking them to vote our way.

Credit where credit is due. To all suffering in occupied territory good job. A small glimmering flicker of light in the thick, black, dense smog that is Kalifornia.

Be a nice state if it was liberated.

Agreed.  Cynicism will drag us down.  We have to keep fighting the good fight.

Last time it was tried, 30 some years ago, in the State legislature, by armed men the backlash was severe. They had liberation thoughts, or so thier motto implies. Something about "All power to the people"....

"The people" didnt want liberation there then.....

So did your Trapazoid Initiative defeat this gun ban attempt or will your TI put this ban through so that you can get a battlefield commission from Paul when the SHTF?

Kidding here, Imbroglio. You knew that, so that must be part of your Trapazoid Initiative as well.

We still need help folks!  It's not dead yet, and even when it is killed it will come back.

Go here and read the bottom line:

495 individual citizens is NOT ENOUGH to keep this one down for good.

More letters, please!

495 is at least better than the 41 previous nay's they received a few weeks ago.  Proud to say I'm one of the 495 even when I don't live in CA.
