So you guys are cool with a giant Baphomet statue right?  Or a scale model of Mecca?  Or is your argument that Christianity is "correct" so it gets special snowflake treatment?

I think it all kind of ties back to a concept that a lot of people miss.  It's the idea that having a protected class (or faith) is inherently discriminatory.  You can't give one faith (or skin color or orientation) special status to try and protect it without denying those same protections to other aspects of our culture.  But if you try and include everyone you go full circle and end up back where you started, not to mention the silliness of having flying spaghetti monster statues in front of court houses and pro pedophile groups wanting to legitimize child abuse.

I'm not sure what the answer is, or if there really is a good answer.  Personally, I couldn't care less about a cross or a mecca but once you get into the weeds it sure turns out to be a complicated thing to tackle.

From reading the article the cross is a historical marker denoting the location of a Spanish mission in 1777. So it is really a historical marker, not specifically endorsing Christianity put pointing out the location of an early catholic mission.

This fucking fool is too dense to see the difference and simply wants it removed because of feels.

To all you other tards saying would I be okay with an Islam or Satan statue, no.

Unless they settled the area in 1776 and had a historically significant settlement, then yes.

It ain't fucking apples to apples. These shit heels simply want to pretend like religious people weren't the first European settlers in a region named for saints and angels.

Religious architecture from many different cultures are very beautiful.  It should be valued and respected in a historical context.

When it comes to this type of display, why not?

Or are you going to refrence some obscure off the wall thing that has a small percentage chance of actually being supported.
