I understand it comes with 2 more mags, some crappy sights and a $40 holster, but geez almost $400 more for that crap?????

Do they not see what shields are selling for?   No wonder I don't shop there

They prey on the stupid and uniformed.

I love when my buddy tries to brag every time he gets a new gun from bass pro and i know its usually 100 to 200 more than if he went local or to a mom and pop shop. He never listens

Well, maybe now there's a market opening for overpriced firearms dealer since Gander Mtn is now gone.

If you could sell them at that price and people buy them, you would.

Don't be a communist, enjoy the capitalistic market and watch people spend their money how they want.

So their used ones should run about $769 w/1 mag no case.

No, the $215 M&P Shields that everybody bought earlier this year already came with two mags.

You're only getting one extra mag with this "deal."

The Gander marketing department went to my local gun board and copied the ad. Add an uncle Mikes holster and a box of ammo . Test fire the gun for 10,000 rounds and call it a like new package deal.

If you spend any amount of time on Arfcom then you are definitely not the target audience for this package "deal".

It's hit and miss.  I just got one of the PT111 G2s that they have on sale for $199, that's cheaper than I can buy online and transfer.  IIRC they also had piles of J-frames at $349 which is about as low as they go.  But the same store has an import-marked Beretta 92S that they want  $629 for, and it's been languishing on the shelf for nearly a year.

I got my M&P (full size) with hard case, pistol holster, three mags, mag holster, and mag loader for $389.00.

At Cabela's.

I bought 2 shields for considerably less

Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Bass Pro etc are all insane with their prices. I am shocked people buy guns (or really anything) from them

I treat them like convenience stores.  If I absolutely need something that day, I can get it but I'm going to pay the price.

Huh.

Mine has pretty decent deals on used guns. Got a nice LCP with laser $175 and some other steals over the years.   Only place around regularly stocked with powder and primers for decent prices.  I bought 5k S&B primers for $100 last year that's a pretty good deal IMO. Also no hazmat.

Lots of overpriced shit but just know what things are worth and look for deals.  I got a bunch of 165gr HST in 50rd boxes for 21.99 IIRC there very recently too.

Yeah, there are two Cabelas stores here in the Denver metro area. I rarely, if ever buy anything gun related form them.....way too overpriced. Just look for deals.

What about their Remington 700 ADL Varmit for $375 after rebates? That seems like a decent deal for a hunting rifle? Asking for a friend...

Bought quite a few guns from Cabela's. They'll price match local dealers sales and then give me 5% military discount.

Yeah Cabelas sells the shield for $349. This one has ~$220 worth of extras, but the math still doesn't work out.
Unless you count saved shipping, install labor for the sights etc, then at least you're closer...I guess.

Shield 9 $349
Crossbreed $70
(2)Mags $50
Tritium/fiber sights $100
~ $569

Wierd

I think they were just bought by Bass Pro, so that pricing is in line. BP is where I go to look at something, hold it, and see if I want it. Then I get it for about 30% less from somewhere else. They were rather lose a sale than match a price so I gladly spend my money elsewhere. Shame about Cabelas.

The package prices they have recently started doing are pretty silly. We sell the standard shield for $349, so this isn't a good deal at all.

The deal with bass pro has yet to be finalized, so it has not done anything with prices yet. We have been told that the stores an our operations and pricing at a store level will not be affected by the buyout, but only time will tell.

We currently have the lowest prices on the PT111, we sold through all 22 we had here over the weekend.

In the last year our firearms group has come a long way, people are now in places that are actually gun people. There are some REALLY cool things in the pipeline that I'm excited for, when they are finally launched.

$649-$200 means you are paying about $450 for the pistol.  Yep, they are on crack with that price.
