I don't think the Cylons could have designed and build the human replicas themselves.
I believe humans continued working on Cylons after the war, probably hoping to "improve" on their flawed originals, hoping to have replacements that could even fight the original Cylons if needed. And like all good plans, it went fubar. |

The blonde stated on the truce station that she was model 1 of 12 The blonde with the stupid scientist said she was model 6 of 12 So in conclusion I believe there are 12 models of humanoid cylons. 4 Blondes, 3 Arms Dealers, 3 PR reps, and pherhaps 2 Boomers? |

Have a quote of what she said on the truce station? I was thinking she said something about "being but 1 of 12 models" or something, no specifically model 1.
Pretty sure there are 12 distinct models, and several copies of each one apparently... And yes, I'm sure if it makes it to a regular series there will be alot of Boomer fighting her innner programming to betray the humans, thanks largely to her feelings for that little boy. You can see that coming, she is a sleeper now with no idea, she will awaken but ultimately choose not to destroy the humans... |

Ok rewatched Episode 1, she says "I am but 1 of 12"
Now if you count the ones on Ragnar at the end of episode 2 you get: Arms Dealer= 2 Blonde=3 PR Guy=2 Boomer=1 + Boomer on Galactica + 2 Blondes Destroyed + 1 Arms dealer destroyed for a grand total of 12 |

I think there are 12 human-like cylons in total.
Watching that last scene, I counted 8. We then have the blonde that was killed on Caprica, the blonde killed on the space station, the guy who was killed by Adama, and Boomer, for a grand total of 12. So,it seems that Boomer is the last one that has infiltrated the Cobol society. |

It's just a 2 parter. Sci fi will not invest in anything that may not make money and pull a 2.0 + in ratings. If they can do it cheap, ala Tremors and Scare Tactics, it's even better.
No complicated plots and you have to be able to watch most of the season without thinking about what it going on. If it wins any sci fi awards, it has to have it's budget cut and eventually cancelled. Just my observations after seeing how they screwed over Farscape. Galatica was ok. I missed half of the second ep as I was rushing a pet to the emergency clinic. I took the 12 type of models to mean human cylon models, not total number. They could care less how many other type of cylons there are, it's the human looking ones that could screw them. |

I think there is someone else...on the bridge crew... to explain the planting of the device hidden there. Either the black communications officer (why did she place a lip-lock on the guy in the corridor?) or the navigation officer who calculated the FTL jumps (I can't figure out why Adama specified he do it alone..just seemed slightly out of place).

Re the FTL jump calcs, that was just Opsec.
They have no idea WHo is a Cylon at this point. It makes sense to let as few as possible know where they are going. |

With possible Cylon agents aboard, the fewer who knew the jump coordinates the better... didn't they also wait until the last minute to let the other ships in the fleet know the coordinates?
