Impossible to know for sure right now, but this sounds bad.  Is Mayor Street trying to manufacture a problem?

Article about the mayor's grandstanding:
www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=domesticNews&storyID=7911331

It was hilarous to read that even an anti-gunner (someone from "Ceasefire PA") said he was barking up the wrong tree:
www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/local/11154751.htm

Diane Edbril, executive director of CeaseFire PA, said: "Any measure that reduces the absolute numbers of guns on the street is a good one, but... the folks who are using guns on the streets are not folks who are carrying them lawfully, with gun permits."
How far we've come in that regard....the anti-gunners are not even trying to criticize CCW anymore.

There is no justification for most people to carry guns in the city, the mayor, a Democrat, told a news conference.
People should not be authorized to carry weapons on the streets of Philadelphia unless they have a good reason to do so," he said.

Ummm... Mayor, sounds like the kind of shit you've got going on there in Philly is the PERFECT reason to carry a gun!

Pennsylvania has a preemption law, so Mayor Street can go pound sand!

Still, I hope this is not the start of a pattern of harassment.  They can do that even while losing in court.

MSNBC had a "news" piece this evening about recent killings in Philly.  It was filled with insinuations that more gun control is needed.  How is reducing CCWs gonna make Philly safer?

Rediculous.  How does the media get away with such misinformation and misdirection?

If you are stopped in Philly carrying, DO NOT let the LEO know you are CCWing.

The mentality there is that if you ARE, they will trump up something to make your life miserable.

As much as I believe in giving a LEO the courtesy of knowing, Philly is another matter.

"Oh, thank you for telling me you're carrying. BTW, did you know it's a Thursday and your left shoe is untied? That's a serious offense!"

Not a LEO bash, just the way things are here in Philly. Mayor tells chief, who tells beat cops. Many beat cops may choose to ignore the orders but if even 10% of them obey and pull that shit and you get stopped by one................
