He said the following:

His dad was a Republican.
He is a Republican.
He wants to see GWB get re-elected.

Not surprising. A southern businessman. Good to hear though.

I kinda assumed most NASCAR drivers tended to lean Republican. Why the big 60 Minutes newsflash about his political leanings?

I was curious about this after the flap over him taking his crew to see Farenhype 911.

I'm not telling my buddy the #8 fan though (one of my subordinates) - it's too much fun ragging on him about Jr being a commie!!!

Wasn't there a thread here a few months ago proclaiming Jr. was anti-gun?

Actually, I've been here since '99 or '00, can't remember which.

Good to hear about Harvick.

The NRA has been a NASCAR sponsor. It's probably safe to say that they know their target market.

I don’t think so.

I believe Remington has been a minor sponsored on some of his cars.

60 Minutes, huh?

Probably got that wrong, too.

Not anti-gun. He took his crew to see Faranheit 911 and many of us speculated he might be a pole smoking liberal. Not anti gun though.

In the interview, he said that he thought someone pulled him out of his burning wreck. As he was being taken to the hospital, he kept asking who it was and the crew had no idea what he was talking about. To this day, he thinks it was his dad.

Interesting.

Yep I seen this in foxsports the other day. I missed 60 minutes last night, but tivo'd it so I will be watching it today. Just so I could see his interview on the crash and dad. Kinda wanted to see his face when he talked about it.
Right swinging, heck this boy just gets better and better in my eyes.

Use your noggin and think about it for awhile.

Well, the only use of the phrase "make up call" I have ever heard is when some guy with a powder puff has to run out to an actor on stage and smack his face with it. I don't see how that has any bearing on the conversation or football.

Beyond that:
"make up" -- fake? build? reschedule? facial paint?
"call" -- phone call? duck call? judgment call?

I still have absolutely no idea what you're saying. Sorry.
