Like any organ (thalmus gland or "sweetbread", liver, brains), testicles have a distinct flavor, and they have LOTS of fatty acid (cholesterol) content. But they are also quite yummy.
As for the "gayness" of nut noshing: Babe Ruth used to drink a soup/gravy concoction consisting mostly of ground-up sheep jewels –– natural version of testosterone enhancement drugs. ETA: the Turkey Testicle Festival in Byron, IL started 30 years ago and is, I believe, the grandaddy of these events. MUCH biker attendance (real ones, not yuppie version), and modest rowdiness, but orderly enough to be safe and fun. |

lamb fries, mtn oysters whatever you want to call them are freaking awesome.
we cut all of ours at the farm. prepared correctly are a gift from god. my 8 year old ate 31 lamb fries at Petes Place in Krebs OK a few months ago. if you dont want em..send them to me. |
