Like any organ (thalmus gland or "sweetbread", liver, brains), testicles have a distinct flavor, and they have LOTS of fatty acid (cholesterol) content. But they are also quite yummy.

As for the "gayness" of nut noshing: Babe Ruth used to drink a soup/gravy concoction consisting mostly of ground-up sheep jewels –– natural version of testosterone enhancement drugs.

ETA: the Turkey Testicle Festival in Byron, IL started 30 years ago and is, I believe, the grandaddy of these events. MUCH biker attendance (real ones, not yuppie version), and modest rowdiness, but orderly enough to be safe and fun.

They do a testicle festival locally. I don't attend or partake.

I don't wanna say I'd never eat them, because, y'know, if you're starving, you're starving, but...

I misunderstood the title, I was all excited. Then

I thought it referred to something like the Japanese Kanamara Matsuri festival.
