made by eotech. same as the 511 without the shroud and plastic battery housing. Offer 125 and go from there.

Which model?

I have an AA battery one that is exactly the same as the Eotech 512 revision F except that it doesn't have the protective hood.

It's been excellent with lithium batteries, I think I bought it in 2006.

Others, whose opinions I respect,  have reported problems with theirs including battery life issues.

every aftermarket hood for the 511/512 have explicitly stated that they were not compatible with the holo.

Do we have confirmation that this is a direct fit?

unless your holo site is drilled and taped for the hood it will not.

It WILL NOT work on the standard model. The hooded version requires a different base (different extrusion). It has a rails that fit in slots in the hood for strength.

I have the AA model Holosight on my AR. I love it and so does everyone who has looked through it.

I have one on my AR and it has withstood 2 carbine classes with no issues at all. It's an N-cell unit.

I have however, taken to checking it from time to time to make sure it didn't get accidentally turned on and burn out the batteries. It has happened to me several times.

Does the Bushnell model not have an automatic shutdown? EOTechs shut-off after 4 or 8 hours depending on which button you use to turn on the sight.

I've got one that takes N-Cells.  I've had it for probably 4 years.... it's on my 11.5 AR.  I don't beat my weapons up but it works just as well as the day I bought it.

Is $140.00 a good deal?
