In the official report from the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, Pohle was said to have "escorted Schwanke to the ground."

Pohle then waited with Schwanke for deputies to arrive, about five minutes Pohle recalled, which was enough time for Schwanke to plead his case."Let me go, stop, just the typical, I'm not doing anything, but he broke into the house," Pohle said.

Hehe.

Schwanke tried to shut the door on him, which wasn't an intelligent choice, according to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.

"And then he shut the door and I ran back and opened up the door, I wrestled with him a little bit and he got out and as he was running, I tackled him, and I threw him to the ground and, uhh, we wrestled there for a little bit and I subdued him," Pohle said.

Oh, was he given a tour?

Well...sort of, yeah!

I like how they summarized the story:

A burglary suspect had the opportunity to visit a local hospital after meeting a Marine whose parents' home he attempted to burglarize Friday.

You can't tell me they weren't chuckling when they wrote that one out.

"Escorted him to the Ground"....I like that line a lot....

Needs more repeated introducing to the ground. JMHO

Schwanke, a prolific criminal with nearly three decades of criminal history in Spokane County, according to authorities, was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Go figure.

Good job Marine.

Good job!

Shame he wasn't carrying. Should have just shot him and been done.
Link Posted: 12/28/2012 7:15:01 PM EDT
Good shoot, oh, I mean, never mind.

Three man enter to man leave should have been the rule.
Link Posted: 12/28/2012 7:36:51 PM EDT
"Three decade criminal history" meaning this middle aged POS had been in and out of the CJS since he was 12.

Fuck him, he's mozambique material AFAIK.

These are the kinds of stories that warm the very cockles of my heart.

Great Job.... It does warm the heart when it has a good outcome.
Sadly the dirtbag had a long history of crime.
"I didn't do nothing" in his warped mind he was just making a living.
Link Posted: 12/29/2012 5:03:24 AM EDT
Story would have been better with one dead dirtbag...
Link Posted: 12/29/2012 5:06:42 AM EDT
It kind of makes me sad that the cops didn't arrive five minutes later.

What the hell was he doing out of jail?

"Schwanke, a prolific criminal with nearly three decades of criminal history in Spokane County,"

We need to start killing "career criminals", early in their "career".

Does having a career as a criminal not count them as being unemployed? Cause that'd be racist to take away thier jobs and raise the unemployment numbers.

Been a crook for thirty years...lucky he didn't get killed. I like the part where the Marine's hand to hand training kicked in. Bravo Zulu!!!

Good choke out!
Link Posted: 12/29/2012 7:59:57 AM EDT
That dude needs to taken out permanently.
Link Posted: 12/29/2012 8:04:44 AM EDT
The story needs a slight correction. The Marine did not escort the subject to the ground. He escorted him to the deck.
Link Posted: 12/29/2012 8:14:12 AM EDT
"wrong" Marine to mess with...is there a "right" one to mess with?
Link Posted: 12/29/2012 8:24:09 AM EDT
"Schwanke, a prolific criminal with nearly three decades of criminal history in Spokane County, according to authorities"

No surprise there
Link Posted: 12/29/2012 8:26:56 AM EDT
Probably the best outcome, however, ventilating a career criminal would have saved a lot of money and future burglaries.
Link Posted: 12/29/2012 8:32:51 AM EDT
I love stories like this. Especially since 3 years ago I had my old house burglarized.

I was going to quote the same line. Too bad he'll probably only do 6-12 months and be back on the street.

I would have been happy with DRT. However, some liberal judge will feel sorry for him and he'll be back out theiving in a day or two.
