Why'd they bring her down? I'd imagine she was pretty big for FW.

It was a big building in Ft. Worth, some say it was the biggest to ever be imploded. What was the second set of explosives that happened around 1300ish hrs? I felt them. The first went of at 740hrs but all I saw was fog and more fog.

It was the 8th tallest building in FW at 419 feet including the clock. The tallest ever demolition (not including 9-11) was the Singer Building in NYC at 612 feet.

How much exlposives?
How many days to set it up?
How much structure had to be removed to facilitate the demo?

I think that was one of the buildings that got torn up pretty badly in the tornado a few years back, wasn't it?

Yup.

That was thunder!!!  I had just gotten up at the hotel from a 2 hour nap and heard that.  Thought maybe they'd had so much fun with the Landmark that they had decided to blow up another one.

384 lbs, I believe.  They've been working since November preparing.  They dug a huge pit for it to collapse in, and stripped most everything out from the interior.  Left the windows for some reason, though.  Shattered glass was everywhere.

Old, ugly, structural damage.

My physics teachers never let me play with high explosives.

I would have paid a whole lot more attention if they had....
