How much are the hydrogen cartridges?
Amazon has them in a 4 pack for $49

This isn't something you would use all the time, just for when you absolutely, positively need some power out in the middle of nowhere.

Is it a better alternative to the thermoelectric chargers that work off burning twigs?   Maybe for the kayak I guess?

End of the video says there is a hydrogen cartridge charging station sold seperately

They do have a recharger but it's a tad expensive.

I have one but I've never used it yet. I keep it in my hunting pack with my survival stuff in case I ever get stuck somewhere longer than planned. I got mine at Cabelas for $40, but it was mismarked. They honored the price anyway.

I like the fact you can just leave it stored and not worry about it.

The lithium ion battery rechargers can loss charge if left for a long time unattended.

There are a couple other options in this review that I would consider first.

If it's a reactor, then it's probably a fuel cell that uses butane.

It actually uses hydrogen. The hydrolyser to recharge the fuel cells is another $250.

It says the cartridges are reusable.   Can you "recharge" them yourself?

Neat.  I never heard of these.

Yeah, but the gizmo is expensive.

Probably not too bad if you and a few buddies chip in on one.

I'll bet lithium primaries are cheaper on energy by volume, weight and cost
