From the secret list:

A cowardly gunman dressed in a suit and tie walked into a Wendy's restaurant in Palm Beach County (Florida) at lunchtime today, killing a Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Lieutenant who was on his lunch break. The lunatic then went on shooting four others before turning the gun on himself. The Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Lieutenant was taking a lunch break from training and met his wife and child at the restaurant. The 42-year-old Firefighter and his family had just left the restaurant when he returned to retrieve a toy his child had left behind. The Lieutenant was shot in the back as he stood at the counter.

eta: Not my brother in a blood sense, but in the fire service we consider fellow firefighters brothers.

Killing a Fireman or Paramedic is every bit as awful as killing a doctor or clergy. This really angers me.

This was an awful story. Why can't people just kill themselves ? I guess they want the media splash.

May GOD comfort all hurt by this senseless act. May the Lt. be allowed to soothe the hearts of his wife and child.
Finally may the meatsack that did this never get used to the heat of eternal flame.

RIP

Does anybody know if a fund has been started for the family? I hope they consider it an LODD if he was on break from a training exercise, it would be a big financial help to the family. PSOB benefit as of 10/1/2007 is $303,064.

If you don't already CCW then it's time to get you permit, get trained, and start. If not for yourselves then for your families.  Far too much of this crap is going on lately. I don't know why people can't just off themselves instead of taking a crowd of innocents out too.

Stay safe...and watch your back

Been practicing a lot over the past 6 months with about 3-4000 rds.
