Hopefully not a dupe:

Associated Press

DENVER -- Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer wore a sticker on his helmet Sunday honoring former teammate Pat Tillman, even though he expects the NFL to fine him for it.

Tillman, the former Arizona Cardinals safety who walked away from the NFL to join the U.S. Army Rangers and fight in Afghanistan, was killed in action in April.

Plummer was warned of the fine before last week's game and chose to remove the decal.

"That was a decision I made and I was upset" about it, he said.

Asked recently about Plummer's sticker, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league's long-standing policy prohibits personal messages on uniforms or helmets. Violators could face fines of $5,000.

"I'll get fined," Plummer said. "I'll take my fine like a man."

He said he would ask the NFL to give the fine money to the Pat Tillman Foundation, which was set up to honor him after his death.

I'm not a Broncos' fan, I'm not a Plummer fan, but that's a damn fine thing to do, and having the sand to back it up.

I am pretty sure most sports figures are conservative, and I am glad to see they still have some backbones.

If they fine him I am in for a $5.00 donation to cover the fine.
And I am a Raiders fan.

I agree. Tillman is worthy of the honor. I still remember hearing that He was killed on the news. I was in the lounge at Blackwater. The chow hall was empty and the ranges deserted as everyone stood around the TV in silence.

Respect for the fallen...

I'm very surprised the NFL doesn't have a sticker on all helmets for the entire season.

Good to see you around!  Cough up the $20 and see the thread about you in the Team Forum.

We were concerned about you.
