Like a high output head or filters? Or is the standard G2 light enough?

I've got a red filter for mine but that's it. It's 65 lumens, some people consider 60 to be the minimum for a tactical flashlight.  Easy test I use, turn off the lights at night and tell the wife "hey honey look at this". If she screams and shields her eyes it's good enough for me.

Why spend big money on accessories for a $30 G2? If you want the uber surefire, buy one of the metal ones, then fix it up. My G2 is the beater, while my 6P is babied. Just doesn't seem worth it for the lower end G2.

NOT bashing the G2 at all BTW, I love mine, just not gonna spend money to beef it up.

Because the G2 is the poly version of the 6P.

More batteries, from Surfire.com, and a P61 bulb, then stop.

Best source for red filters?  I have a few G2s, a G2Z and a 6P around here somewhere.

I got a G2 a few years ago, and the P61 bulb.  I have an E2HA also.  I went to an outdoor party where I was showing off the brightness of the G2 (with the P61 bulb) against other lights.  Now all my friends have them.

P61 lamp and a Tac Star pressure switch.  I also run a blue filter on it for when i dont need 125 lumens of light to see something.

Can the G2 (lamp assembly) withstand the recoil or does it require a "special" lanp unit?

From what I've read its not specifically designed for it. The SF weapons light start at like 300 bucks. The AR doesnt have that much recoil. I figure the G2 would be fine, and even if its not its 25 bucks or so for a new lamp. I can buy a helluva lot of lamps for a G2 before I reach the price I would have paid for a SF weapons light.
