Guy survived? That means that he didn't learn the lesson of the previous administration.

First time a sitting vice president has shot another person since Arron Burr dueled with Alexander Hamilton, and won.

Atleast it was with a prize shotgun, not a semi-auto.

The talking head says he was taking a shot at a bird. It could have been the other guy's fault if he was standing in front of the VP where he shouldnthave been. Just speculating.

It must have spread outside of ARFCOM...

I'm surprised nobody has posted the traditional, "It's a Glock" response yet.

Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and injured a man during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, his spokeswoman said Sunday.

Harry Whittington, 78, was "alert and doing fine" after Cheney sprayed Whittington with shotgun pellets on Saturday at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas, said property owner Katharine Armstrong.

Armstrong said Cheney turned to shoot a bird and accidentally hit Whittington. She said Whittington was taken to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Cheney's spokeswoman, Lea Anne McBride, said the vice president was with Whittington, a lawyer from Austin, Texas, and his wife at the hospital on Sunday afternoon.

Bush/Cheney need to get on the stick.
How many people died of "Arkancide" during Klinton's administration?
Oh well - hunting accident is more plausible than Vince Foster's "suicide"

On a serious note - glad the guy is ok, I feel bad for both him and cheney.

No sense in going home hungry

Cheney is the only one professsional enough to carry a prize shotgun.

Shot a lawyer? Well one is a good start. Needs to work on his aim and use slugs though.

Nah, not an ND. He was shooting at a bird, and peppered someone with pellets. Happens lots on dove and quail hunts. Usually it's no harm/no foul.

Bullshit. something like this sh ould never happen, and if it does, it's because the shooter didn't know either a) what was beyond his target or b) pointed his gun at something he didn't intend to kill. Inexcusable, no matter who it is.

Dear Dick,

Lawyers are not a generally accepted material for use as a patterning board, though I do appreciate the sentiment.

Sincerely,

George
