Obama wants to get reelected. He probably will only lose votes if he DOES do something gun control related. It is an important issue to a lot of people, although most are conservatives. Not doing anything won't make him lose any votes though. Morons that want him to violate our rights will still vote for him regardless of what he does.

Two extremely radical Supreme Justice Appointments and he get's an "F?" I mean we're talking about two women on the Supreme Court who believe the Second Amendment doesn't even exist for us peons.
He personally set the ATF onto a car dealer who is giving vouchers for AK47 rifles with the purchase of a pre-owned car. Man, just no pleasing some people huh? Brady Campaign wouldn't be happy unless Obama was personally leading soldiers to round all of us up into re-education camps and melting down every single weapon they found. |

No real surprise there. Gun control doesn't work and most everyone knows it, including the politicians who want it. I suppose Obama could push hard for legislation that won't really do anything to prevent crime or murder, but there's nothing to be gained and much for him to risk losing by doing it. IIRC, in his autobiography, Bill Clinton specifically cited the AWB as the reason for some devestating loses for the Democrats in the subsequent elections.
The gun control zealots will still keep on pushing for it, but the smart move for the rest is to just leave the guns alone for a while. |
