You have to buy your own uniforms in the NG?!!! NFW! What a chickenshit outfit.

No, you do not have to buy your own uniforms in the NG.

As far as truspec, they are not issue bdu's, but they are pretty close and will probably work fine.

You have to buy your own uniforms in the USMC.

They don't really have a name-brand.  The issue cammies are made by various military contractors, just like every other piece of issue gear.

I jsut go to clothing sales. USGI issue, no tu-spec or Propper BS to deal with. $15 for a shirt and $15 for pants.

I quit buying them because they fade out about twice as fast as the ones from clothing and sales.  At Fort Bragg clothing and sales, summer BDUs are 54 dollars a set.

Propper makes them and the new ones our unit got issued are made by American Apparel.  I don't know where the $15/piece BDU's come from, but all of them I've seen are almost $28/piece at clothing and sales.  If you buy any more, try to get the "enhanced hot weather" bdu's.  They are rip stopped, you can tell the difference because these will have small squares woven into the pattern.

Tru Spec are real BDUs, and so are Propper.

But they both are available in many types.

Current issue is 50 Nylon / 50 Cotton blend and ONLY made in Woodland or Desert.

If that is what you have you are current.

If you have 100% cotton, 60/40 Cotton / Poly  or any other camo pattern you have previous spec BDUs.

Funny, I ordered Propper 100% and they sent me 2 e-mails telling me they were waiting on shirts because the military was buying them all.

I saw Proppers last weekend that were made in Turkey! Hardly mil-spec and buyer beware.
