Council seeks to ban more firearms
The Boston Globe April 6, 2006 The City Council yesterday unanimously passed a petition to ban certain ''cop killer" firearms and stiffen offender penalties. The legislation will add the FN Five-Seven, .50 cal. Smith & Wesson, and .50 cal. Barrett to the city's assault weapon's ban. Possession of illegal firearms also will now carry a minimum, mandatory one-year jail sentence under the legislation. Before it takes effect, the petition must be approved by the mayor and state lawmakers. www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2006/04/06/slots_turn_up_lemons_in_house_vote/ |

oh shit.... that might come to CA! i better get my five seven NOW!
sigh.... 95% of criminals arnt willing to spend the ammount those guns even cost.... i give up. |
Thank God they finally banned the only two "cop killer" calibers.
This is the first peice demonizing the S&W 500 magnum that I've ever seen. WTH.
An assault revolver????! |
I banned everything relating to MA / Boston from my household.
Also on the Ban List, NY, NJ, IL / Chicago, NO, & CA. I only hope the poor souls living in those states rise up & owerthrow their oppressors. |
Damm, they can't even get the name right
I'ts the .500 S&W Fucking Morons! |
Everyone knows that .22, 9mm, .357mag, and .30-06 will just bounce off a cop's skin. Thank God they've banned the cop killer ones!
Wow, I wish I was as safe as the people in boston are now!
I guess they think cause it has .50 in the name it must be bad! |
I would do that too , but I'd lose my fiance who is from NY in the process |
At least put her on a very strict embargo. |
i spend LOTS of money every day buying supplies from all kinds of companies to keep operations up. i do not buy from any companies located in MA, NY, NJ, CA, DC. that goes in my personal life too. |
So if you live in Boston and own one of these guns what are you supposed to do, turn them over, sell them to someone outside of Boston, can you legally own them since you owned them before the ban??
I've always wondered what happens in these types of situations. |
They are ignored |
I never had any inkling to buy the FiveseveN, I feel it is my duty to buy one NOW!!!
I never had the need to buy the 50 cal, but I NEED ONE NOW!! If the asswipes in the .gov decide it is bad for me, then I guess I need whatever it is they are banning - whether it is a firearm, machete, playboy magazine or video game!! |
SHHHHH don't tell them that a nice 30-06 bolt action will go through a vest like butter...
Or at least all the ones I know police to wear. Most of them are soft vests without hard plates. |
Simple possesion would be illegal? How would that work with the Federal Laws that lets you travel from one state to another as long as it's legal in both places. Would you have to go around Boston? BTW how many crimes have been commited with .50 and 5.7 mm in Boston? |
For being neighbouring states, NH and MA are almost completely at opposite spectrums of gun control. In fact, very few states are better in terms of gun freedoms as NH. Strange. Although the same could be said for other 'pairs' of neighbouring states such as CA and NV or AZ.

I'm so glad I moved out of that shithole communist state. Here's why this whole "ban" is stupid to being with: 1. The FN Five Seven can't even be sold to anyone in Massachusetts since it does not meet the "consumer safety regulations" set for arbitrarily by the state attorney general. Therefore anyone in posession of one is either a. just passing through on their way to another state, b. Someone who owned a five-seven in another state before moving into Massachusetts and taking it with them or c. a criminal who obtained the weapon illegally. 2. The "Possession of illegal firearms also will now carry a minimum, mandatory one-year jail sentence under the legislation" is crap and will likely never be enforced. There's already a state law that has been on the books for at least 20(?) years stating that any juvenile who is in illegal posession of a firearm will get a "mandatory" one year in prison. To the best of my knowledge, this law has never been enforced. 3. I guess that that 7.62x54R bullet from a 100+ year old Mosin-Nagant won't pierce body armor either? Oh teh noes! We must ban this deadly cop-killer rifle! It's only been around for 115 years!!! Here's the link to the Boston Herald article covering the same topic. It has a little more detail. I e-mailed Flaherty a couple of months ago when he first started whining about the Five-Seven. I made all of the same points above in his e-mail. Of course, he couldn't be bothered to respond at all. No attempt to refute the facts I gave him and not even so much as a form letter. Typical Massachusetts elitist politician douchebag. |

This trend need to stop at once. People will become criminal by defult, you would need to major in "gun laws of the USA" not to be a crimanal in your own home country.
Federal law trumps local ones. You can pass through with scary evil assault weapons as long as they are stored in compliance with the Federal law. The cop who pulls you over might not know that, of course. There's always that slight chance.
My money's on zero. |

Yeah, they're starting to do some crazy stuff. Looks like they have to take it one step further than Cali in some regards. Maybe then can legislate themselves out of the union. |
Funny thing is, I don't blame you... hell I even thank you for it. By not buying from NY companies, you're helping us in our fight. I figured Boston would try this. Hell, it's only a matter of time for us here in NY. Libs are full-o-shit. |
Everyone know that the .500 S&W can have a sling on it, that lets you spray from the hip. It holds 5 .500 calibre rounds that will set fire to babies and shoot out the beams that support all of the buildings in any major city. The longer barrel allows the bullets to "seek-out" innocent bystanders(although I am sure they are guilty of something) on it's own.
Good thing they don't know about the .44 Mag or .45 ACP.
Or for heaven's sake the .30'06 or .308. |
Fuqk BOSTON, Fuqk MASS, and FUQK TEDDY KENNEDY!!!
Mary Jo Koppekene (sp?) will spit on his burning soul in Hell. He may have escaped justice in this life and fooled all the fools in Mass, but in the next all scores will be settled. |
Not very likely. Remember, this is the state that brings you Kennedy and Kerry. They want to be miserable socialists. |
I laugh every time they bring up banning the FiveseveN.
The FiveseveN is only a threat to cops with the *right* ammunition. And you can't buy that anywhere. Otherwise it's a pea shooter. |
Thats what i was thinkin' Fuckin' Retards |
They'll be next. First .50's then .499's then 45's then... |
No, it's not. The media and VPC have been demonizing the 500 since the day it went on sale. |
Obligatory.... "Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with." ('Atlas Shrugged' 1957) |

So how long will it take them to realize the S&W .460XVR and the Barrett .416 are even more evil than the .50s?
The new .460 round could probably penetrate a tank! Much better performance in many ways than the .500. |
Yes it is, it's the first that IVE EVER SEEN Never denied existance of it, but the VPC must not have had it as a priority compared to the cop killer 5.7 |
When was the last time a LEO was killed with a 50cal weapon? We all know street gangs carry 50caliber weapons.
these people are fucking idiots. |
Thank God that Boston will be a safer city and no cops will die from S&W .500 or FN 5.7mm.
I don't know about 5.7, but what kind of criminal will be using a S&W .500 revolver? Oops, my bad, it's their new favorite drive by weapon |
Shit, I carry my .500 Mexican. |
A Big +1. The AWB is what prompted me to get my first AR and AK in the first place. I figured if the .gov didn't want me to have them, maybe it was time to start getting them. Sometimes I think the gooberment is the gun industry's biggest advertiser. |
Did they ever say just how many crimes were committed with those types of guns? How many cops were killed?
