Especially for that sweet 90's airsoft vest.

If I am never coming home, I'll be living in St. Lucia.  The whole idea of a BoB has been perverted by people who's mom put antifreeze in their bottle when they were a baby.

You started talking INCH bags, and I had an immediate flashback to that Texas chick who ate a raw catfish on Doomsday Preppers.

Right? My inch bag is far superior to that - including the bag itself (Osprey Kestrel 58) A fully loaded 70 cubic inch would be too heavy once full of gear for anyone to haul any distance at all.

I'd love to see the dude who wrote that page, just to see if he's capable of carrying all of that shit for any length of time. Just look at his firearms page, where he says you have to carry a MINIMUM of 10,000 rounds of .22 lr and 250 rounds of pistol ammo. I wonder if he's ever tried lifting 10,000 rounds of .22 lr.

Yup.. fully loaded and with a side arm and rifle my Osprey Ketral 58 is all I can possibly manage, and no way I am rucking 15 miles a day in it either. Probably 10 and then being whooped. Of course I am just a little guy, some of you ummm larger? sized arfguys may be able to handle the 58 cu inch ok, but I still do not see anyone hauling around a 70 cubic incher fully loaded with your weapons/ammo etc to boot.

Remember, the entire purpose of the inch bag is you will have to be carrying every single thing you will need to survive "permanently" at the time you leave with it.

Stallone uses that same vest in The Expendables movies. That knife concerns me more than the vest does.

Oh god she was a mess. Wasn't she the one who thought bugging out to Mexico was a good idea?

Actually he says you can carry one in each hand and a third over your back, which is true.
Wouldn't want to do it for a long stretch
Poor Aimless, should have put this in the appropriate prep forum.
Been a while since we've had a good tactical wheelbarrow thread around here.

The author seems to not understand the purpose of a bug out bag or get home bag. They're two entirely separate things. I agree someone should have a more substantial bag at the go, but putting something like that in a car would be pretty excessive, and in some places it illegal not to mention the fact that might get stolen. A little tiny 3-day pack is much less conspicuous. Different tools for different situations.

Honestly a wheelbarrow would probably be more viable than what he is suggesting.

Of course in a disaster you're going to want every single possible thing you can have. But you also need to be able to move around with your stuff or you didn't get very far away from the disaster. I suppose if this is disaster is something where you have to camp in your backyard for a few months then it might work.

Except that the guy isn't discussing BOBs or GHBs on that site

You probably haven't been around long enough to understand the Gunkid reference.
He's still active on one board that allows how to post in a restricted fashion...Gunlocker or one of those forums..anyway, it's worth a trip to the archives if you want to brush up on his wheelbarrow acumen.

The whole INCH bag concept goes beyond the BOBs and GHBs people plan on using to escape a short term disaster.
They're all about the noble Lone Wolf survivalist going off into the deep woods and living for months off what they carry.
I think it's a continuation of the mountain man fantasy, except that the mountain men weren't the solitary do-it-all types that they get fantasized as being.
The Lone Wolves aren't going to make it long term.

Top of the page, #1 reason to need an INCH bag- Foreclosure.

I certainly understand the allure of having a bag that you can walk away from your house with that should sustain you for a significant amount of time. But I think that that falls below priority of having an acceptable 3-day pack. I mean a pack with weapons and tactical vests and all that would probably look a little strange taking it to the hotel because you had a gas leak at your house. I brought up the bug out bag because he specifically demonizes the entire Concept in the front page.

An INCH bag is an unrealistic proposition.  An INCH SUV is more realistic, but still unlikely to be able to maintain survivability indefinitely.
