Bloomberg must believe he’s God’s gift to New York because it’s obvious he has a god-complex. He now wants to ban public displays of tobacco products in retail stores in an ‘out of sight out of mind’ effort to keep people from smoking:

NBC NEWS – If New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg gets his way, stores won’t be able to publicly display tobacco products and will have to keep cigarettes under the counter or behind curtains.

The legislation announced Monday is the latest public-health crackdown by the mayor, whose ban on super-sized sugary soft drinks was shot down by a judge last week.

The proposed law would “prohibit display of tobacco products” in most retail shops, Bloomberg said. “Such displays suggest smoking is a normal activity and invite young people to experiment with tobacco.”

He said it would be the first of its kind in the nation.

He's out of control. I'd like to propose a ban on Bloomberg.

All the tears over Bloomberg's actions.

Meanwhile on my airwaves TV I get to watch a murder where the guy sticks a knife in somebody's side (shown last week on Following (or maybe it's called The Following)).
In contrast, when was the last time you saw a commercial for Camel or Marlboro??

It's okay to show murder but cigarettes are bad.

Yes, Bloomberg can grab a knee and suck it but his will be done as we've seen before. What he is doing....... it's gonna spread around you know. That's what viruses do.

A while back Barclay-Rex, a big cigar store in Manhattan was having some trouble over their espresso maker. I am sure there will be no shortage of impositions for cigar stores.

Maybe someone could goad him into banning public display of marijuana.

Why should the government have any authority as to how it displays items that it wishes to sell?

I would like to offer a bill that requires all representations of Bloomberg, including printed media, digital reproduction and the very man himself, be kept out of sight because merely gazing at his visage causes reasonably minded people to wretch and vomit uncontrollably.

Bloomberg is trying to get his name before public, I bet he will be trying to run for another public office soon.

The people in NYC must love him, he's still the mayor. And no protests going on.

How many billion dollar industries can Bloomberg pick fights with? Tobacco, soda, porn. You think eventually these different industries would get sick of that shit and do a figurative kneecapping on him.

Bloomberg is bad for my health. Seriously stresses me out. I'm sure that is somehow detrimental. Can we get him banned?

The shower rooms are to the right.

Always found it strangely hilarious that the govt is more then happy to rake in billions in taxes off a LEGAL product [which, if banned, would force the govt to find something else "evil" to excessively tax to make up the shortfall for "the chillren" programs] but then hassles the hell out of the sellers and manufacturers.

Guns and ammo will be next, I suppose you'll happily cheer that on also.......

I say we ban NYC, sell it to the UN, or blow the bridges, and build a wall.

Or maybe all 3.

What a statist twat

Next up , no more gun magazines in plain view . . . they'll be wrapped in plastic with a plain brown sleeve blocking everything but the mag's title .

King sized candy bars ? Forget about it ...no more ....it'll be Halloween sized tid-bits at the same price thanks to the extra taxes .

Lotto ? No more than 5 tickets a week now , it's addictive you know .

Good, LEOs need less guns and more instructing people to "increase their calm"

Unless they are LEOs in a free state, then they can walk into 7-11 with a M16 and shoot bad guys like Joe Citizen can
