Is there a way to block videos on websites from autoplaying or moving?

Case in point:  Opened a story on Foxnews and there's a video. I don't want to watch it, so I scroll down...only to have the video pop up in the bottom right of the screen and start playing. Pretty much "You're going to watch this video whether you like it or not!"

Is there a way to block these?

Thanks.

A lot of the news sites with autoplay videos have switched to HTML5. There is a blocker extension for Chrome not sure about Firefox but probably.

Depends on the browser you are using.

Firefox has a config setting: media.autoplay.enabled
