Should the government look to the militia in times of emergency such as "the sniper?"

What exactly is he asking? Is he asking if the sniper is a militia "nut"? Or is he asking if we should use the militia to help find the sniper?

On its face, it implies "look for the militia to aid in times of emergency." But I don't see what "the militia" (if there were one) could do about the scumbag shooter in MD/VA. Its a poorly-worded question. But I'll yes it anyway. [:)]

The way I read it, he is suggesting that the government allow the unorganized militia to mobilize and support the local law enforcement. This could be done and quite effectively as well. Unfortunately, most local officials do not consider this asset, preferrring instead the "standing army" of professional LEO's. This distrust of the public plays into the sniper's hands.

I always vote pro gun on these polls, but this is not a gun poll, Sorry guys I had to vote no on this one, The last thing we need is every untrained idiot with an SKS prowling the streets causing more havoc than the sniper, I'm afraid that untrained yahoos would get out of hand and end up killing innocent civilians or in a confrontation with legitimate authorities.
