Well since I put up the post about accepting membership contributions now, I figured I would give you guys a few shots of the new site and one of the new tools in action... (I cheesed out the graphic, so no jokes!)

These pics are in the 40-65k range, so they may take a few seconds to load!

This is the main news screen, the menu is dynamic and located below the AD (the big white thing!). The small empty gray box will hold links to the most current news items, articles, columns, and product reviews! The small pic in the corner is the FeaturePic, followed by the site polls!

The second shot is of the product review engine. (Again, apologies for the cheesed graphic!) This will hold the product information as well as the rating (from the site as well as from all reviews and the average!) and the reviews appear below the picture.

The final picture is of the beloved forums in the new layout. With the navigation for the entire site accessible above the forums, you will be able to jump between forums easier, jump to content areas, and basically go where you need or want to, to get to the information faster!

I didn't want to show off too much of the site for the time being!!! The new look and design is compact, easy to use, and VERY powerful. It uses some DHTML and Javascript and has been tested on IE5, 5.5, MacIE, and is being completed with Netscrape. (I hope!)

Nice job. Looking forward to the new site. How far down the road before we see this? Will the forums be powered by a different engine? Signatures(pics) would be nice at the end of our posts.

I just started to get used to this layout and now your gonna change it on me...

Looks cool!!
Sounds like it's easier to navigate too...

I hope it's STILL compatible with my WebTV thingy...
I know anything thats related to "JAVA" is NOT WebTV compatible...
I think thats why I can't get into the AR15.com "chat room"

please tell me it will work with out a java enabled computer! my comp wort work with java chants and such so this is probably not good eather my comp works with the HTML stuff tho

I have the WEB TV too.I hope I still can get access to all but the chat room like now...I'm poorer than Imbro..I only have a sling-shot and a blunt stick.[:(]

No JAVA only javascript and DHTML which SHOULD be ok with latest versions of WebTV and is solid across all browsers (even working on netscape issues!)

I also have a number of fixes to go in (later) for older browsers and WAP devices.

Looks good, but hopefully the javascript won't mess up my computer like the chatroom and animation code screen does.

Ai caraba! The legends were true. The monks in the mountain did speak of a great immortal named, GoatBoy who will lead the way to the land of enlightenment. Our long and arduous journal to this site was well worth it!

GoatBoy, sorry to sound a little dramatic, but I have to say at this time the format looks really good. Concept and proposed composition seems like a winner to me! Count me in as one of your followers. [:)]
