A little AR rifle stand I made for BigDozer.  This one is made of black walnut with cedar inserts.  The front edge is actually beveled, it just doesn't show well in the pic.

I hope he likes it.

Hey Sarge, when you draw up plans for these projects do you oversize them to allow for the excessive amount of sanding it takes to remove the blood stains?

Nice job---looks good!

Sarge, do you sell these, or was that a gift for bigdozer? That's a really sweet stand. If you wouldn't mind me asking, what would you charge me for a stand similar to that?

Now that is awesome. Put that fucker on the EE and you'd sell a bunch, especially if you embroider the screen name on the cover as illustrated. Very nice indeed.

Sarge, how did you connect the upright to the base?  Glue & screw, bisquit & glue, mortise & tenin, or something else?  What are the dimensions of the upright?  I have a nice 4" thick piece of walnut left over from an entertainment center build that would make a good base for one of these.  Good looking work BTW!

Just a dowel and a hole.  The wood mag actually comes apart for easy shipping.  It is actually quite stable.

The Upright "mag" is just that..a mag. same dimensions basically as a USGI.  I just rounded the corners and add the accents.  I have used other woods but like walnut the best because it is nice and hard and doesn't splinter at all inside the rifle.

+1
I am betting thats a mortise and tenon joint and
I am thinking you used cedar on that one. (looks like cedar any way )

I wasnt kidding about the "Cover". Did you make it?
It looks danm good,  are you into embroidering too?

ETA:
oops, I guess I was off on the materials & construction,
But I stil want to know about the cover...

Thanks Sarge, You have inspired me to make one!  I'm thinking oval or octagonal for the base and if I feel lucky I might even try to recreate the curve in the mag.  And yes, I will post pics.  I don't sell any of my work unless someone really begs, so I won't be horning in on your action.
