This just popped up on my breaking news twitter feed:

More on Reuters/Ipsos poll: Obama approval rating drops to 45%; 42% of Americans have negative view of Tea Party

At first glance you get the impression that more people approve of Obama than the Tea Party 45% to 42%.

What it is really saying is that 45% approve of Obama (implying up to 55% have a negative view of Obama) and 42% have a negative view of the Tea Party (implying up to 58% approve of the Tea Party.

"Breaking News" on twitter is supposedly politically impartial but was bought out a while back and is now owned and operated by....... wait for it...... MSNBC

And, if you were to poll people on their individual positions such as federal spending, taxes, etc, I bet the Tea Party would come out way on top.

There are thousands of other news sources on Twitter.  Just pick one that's less biased.

No, because that news source regularly breaks stories faster than any other source (99% of the time they are quicker than arfcom).

Every source I use for news on Twitter is quicker than Arfcom, and I don't use the one you mention.

Look at following political analysts, pundits, etc...Not just dedicated news sources, like MSNBC or FOX.

The uninformed old farts can hate on Twitter all they want, but it's an incredibly useful real-time tool, and it's totally free.
