Well, it's nearly Halloween and the zombie movies are starting to fly on TV. So since I haven't seen the topic in at least 2 weeks I thought I'd ask.

ETA - I have added the options provided by the core training documentaries. Please choose.

Is a no-brainer here; the shotty is the piece to have, specially loaded with 00 Buck (rhymes with...

)

You don't need to be particularly accurate with a shotty, just point and shoot; the round will do a number on decomposing flesh and a shot in any area will leave a gaping hole on it (he can't chase you if he has no legs, right?)

So, start styocking up on 00 Buck (Rhymes with... ) and slugs; because in the case of a Zombie Attach, a shotgun is your best friend...

Oh, and a machete too.

WRONG

Original Dawn of the Dead had both guys armed with ARs!!!!

They only switched to the lever action scoped rifles after they ran out of ammo. In this day and age where 556 is common as hell, they would have found resupply in the gun store in the small!

Serious flawed poll.

You are going to be zombie bait!

High capacity, accurate semi or full auto is the only way to go.

The FN MAG (Brit M240 version) in 28 days later seem to do quite well on those zombies

Yes, but they only fired from the hip while using their supporting hand to grip the carry handle. Not an effective way to use an AR, so I left it out.

I think a 9mm is best. High cap, fast cornering, most zombies are slow and stupid, easy targets. I dont think knock-down is a factor here since only a HS will keep them down anyway.

Unless they are the "new-Zombies" which run like hell, form plans and use teamwork to find you...then its got to be a Shotty or M249

I think all the ammo you have is what you are gonna have for the entire zombie apocalypse.
Everyone who is fighting to survive the zombie apocalypse is probably running around armed. They want what you want... more ammunition. I don't think the gun shop is the smartest place to go during the apoc, since most of the survivors are thinking the same thing you are, but then again, they might be more ruthless than the zombies when they see you have a better gun than they do.

Even zombies can't get around with their knees blown out. For that you need semi auto 30 cal rifles.Shotguns are too slow to reload and you have to let them get way to close before the shotgun will have the desired affect. And some molotov cocktails to throw on them after you have whacked their knees. Now, how cool would that be?!
