Synthetic soap, and rinse well with dehydrated water to prevent spots.
 I just wipe it off and oil it up with the rest of the weapon. |

I had a synthetic stock that dried out so I tried ArmourAll (it's an automotive product for plastics and rubber parts) but it didn't work all that great and it left somewhat of a residue. Haven't tried anything else yet but would like to find something that works good on synthetics, and doesn't leave them slick or filmy. I'm surprised gun cleaning products companies don't have something specifically for treating synthetic stocks.

If its a black stock and you want to cover scratches and blemishes, whipe it down with black kiwi shoe polish after the soap and water treatment. It covers the scratches and the wax gives it some water resistance. Its good to use of the finish of the rifle for the same purposes.

Rub gun oil on it, and then wipe the excess off. It will be nice and shiny, and it won't be all slippery either, unless you don't wipe it off.

Simple Green. Also works on the metal.
I've never seen a synthetic stock that "needed" oil. It isn't wood. |

if it's synthetic it should need any water resistance. never seen plastic that was damaged by water

simple green is Very caustic to alluminum and other metals. use with care as it could damage the reienforcement in the stock if not completely rinsed. |

Yes. Which is why you should never use the stuff on your car pedals or steering wheel. I suspect shoe polish might act the same way. Soap and water is all you need. |
