What do you think is the best time to go during normal 1st shift hours?

My vote is Sunday morning before 9am (beat the after church crowds).
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:19:29 PM EDT
If I go to mine by 9 AM any day of the week is A-OK. After 9 AM, it would be best about 11 AM when most people are thinking about where to go for lunch and not grocery shopping.

I used to have Monday & Tuesday off. Never had any issues in the grocery store unless it was the first of the month.

I have been going on Saturday afternoons lately. Sometimes it is a little busy but they seem to staff for it.

Apparently 45 minutes before I get there, because there is never a line until I'm ready to check out.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:23:00 PM EDT
I like to go after midnight. I went last night at 2 am.. I like to go home after church.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:23:08 PM EDT
I go Saturday morning. Went today 9:45, out in 27m.

Usually go around 8:30-9:00.

I figure people stay up Friday night, sleep in Sat. Roads usually empty.

was there today shopping for easter meal to make, it was 3pm - it was fucking crowded but all the hot chicks in yoga pants made it tolerable
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:24:56 PM EDT
10pm or later
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:32:07 PM EDT
Go when there's no crowd.  That depends on your area of operation.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:33:47 PM EDT
I have days off during the week, so I normally go around 10 AM weekdays.  Easy to get in and out and the FSA types aren't out shopping just yet.  Very few crumbsnatchers as well.

In my AO?  During a Packers game.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:37:16 PM EDT
weekend grocery shopping is best.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:38:57 PM EDT
I order my groceries online at Clicklist from Kroger, show up at the appointed time, and they load them into my rig.

No muss, no fuss, no standing in line.

Best time is right after yoga class lets out.  Usually a weekday, mid to late afternoon.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:52:42 PM EDT
Mornings Are better than nights because you get first choice at the managers specials. 8am during the week.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:53:52 PM EDT
About to head out for the weekly trip.  We like to go after 7pm, less people- but early enough to check out the deli and meat counters before they start shutting down.

The worst seems to be around 5pm, if I need to pick up something after work the place is a zoo!
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 8:58:08 PM EDT
I only go after midnight. Less retards and everything is being restocked by the night crew so I don't have to worry about not being able to find something.

I cannot wait until HEB starts doing that.

When I was single and in college, the best time was after 22:00.  Only the stocking personal and checkers at that time of the night.
Now I get my but out of bed early and beat the Sunday crowd.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 9:04:01 PM EDT
Anytime but Saturday or Sunday during the day. If you go in the overnight hours less fresh stuff will be out
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 9:08:34 PM EDT
I go usually 22-2300.
Link Posted: 4/15/2017 9:09:48 PM EDT
Unless it's right before a snowstorm or some party holiday, doesn't make enough difference to try to optimize it for us.

We just go when we need groceries and deal with it, mostly on the way home from work.  A 5 minute wait in the checkout isn't worth trading for a 10 minute round trip later in the day.

But late night and early on weekend days are definitely low-crowd times if you need them.  Or mid-day if your schedule permits.

I try to get there before 8am any day of the week

This.  If I'm going to grocery shop I prefer it when I'm surrounded by MILFS in Yoga pants.

Weekdays late at night. Most grocery stores have one to two lanes open, its that slow.

Mid-week, 9 am with an EBT card… Don’t want to go when they first get posted though

2pm.  You'll have the place to yourself.

Going to the grocery after your yoga class or stalking the yoga pants crowd once they leave class for the store?
Link Posted: 4/16/2017 12:15:46 AM EDT
Wtf is a grocery store?

I've been ordering my groceries from the Internet
Link Posted: 4/16/2017 12:18:32 AM EDT

I went Saturday night at 9pm. No Deli or Bakery counter service. Shelves look picked over a bit. Back to Sunday morning.

Sundays are shit. Good for crowd avoidance, but from a fresh produce and stocking perspective it is shit. Everything is from the same shipments as Thursday or Friday, but a couple days older

Weekday midmornings after the overnight stockers have done their job and the supply trucks have just been unloaded and they are rotating out stock.

What happens on the first of the month? Why is that not a good time to go?

Saturday evening is the best.

If your single Friday and Saturday night. All the other non bar hopping non party single women are there also.

I go at 2 or 3 in the am.

I stay away on the 1st and 15th and try to go early during a weekday.  Otherwise, early on Sat.

There are several grocery store chains doing some variety of it now.

Albertsons has partnered up with Tom Thumb for delivery, and even WallyWorld has pick-up service now.

I'd like to see HEB get into it because I hate going into their stores. You gotta walk through 500' of clothes and DVD's to get to the freakin' groceries.

Saturday morning because so many awesome samples

Uummm, when it's convenient for me, and I need things from the store?
