I'm going to pick up an LCD in 1920x1200 but I'm wondering what size to get.

25.5=27" seems like the pixels would be too big, and the text would thus not be terribly sharp.

My Dell laptop has a 17" screen that does 1920x1200 and everything on it is *razor* sharp, if a little small.

Thinking maybe a 23" would suit my needs best as far as the combination of sheer size vs pixel density and pixel size.

Comments?

Thanks.

IMO, 24" tops. That's what I run, and it's great.

Go to a store and check one out... but I don't think you'll be disappointed at 25+ inches.

Your only other option is to spend $1k+ on a 2560x1600 monitor.

I work on a 30" 2560x1600, and have a couple of 27" 1900x1200, and IMO they all look just fine.

87"

You can increase the DPI in Windows if your text is too small.

Thanks.

I've used a 27" at 1920x1080 and it was still pretty sharp. I wouldn't worry about text too much, because you can adjust that in the OS to make it easier to read.

24'' works well for this resolution. I use this one:
