I have been sleeping with my balcony door open at night to let the cool air in...  Fury little fuckers must have got in.  Just chased one out about an hour earlier with a crutch and thought that was the end of it...  Just went to my kitchen a minute ago to make a snack and seen another one run by
What's the best round to use?  I have neighbors below me and across the hall...  need something that is not going to overpenetrate

UPDATE:  Heading to Walmart now.  Hopefully have AAR and possible dinner pics in a few hours

*Word to the wise...  set up mouse traps before you start drinking

Tie a cheerio to a mousetrap with dental floss.  Use a little peanut butter too.  I did this at my parents house since they live in the country and it killed the little fucker first night I laid the trap.  I took a pic and I might be able to dig it up if you really want proof.

I'm liking this idea...  never used those before, but if I have to drive all the way to Walmart for mousetraps, might as well make it an ammo run too

Few gallons of bleach and a few gallons of ammonia mixed in your bathtub should drive them out.

I had mice in my cabin on the island... used the old "shoebox with stick attached to string" trap (peanut butter works a treat, put it on a sheet of foil so you can hear'em). I got a cage and a wheel and enslaved them all for my enjoyment. They actually became tame.
I shit you not, I had an escape once... all 4 residents of the micro-rodent condo went missing. Woke up in the morning to the wheel in the cage squeaking. 3 had broken back into their house!
Funny little fuckers

Rat shot is still preatty loud, seriously get some .22 colibri. It's .22 with no powder just a primer so it's essentially BB gun velocity and noise. Set up as far away as you can with a scoped .22 rifle and put some peanut butter near his hole, but far enough away that you have a clear shot from your hide. You can have a lot of fun doing this.

I use to try this with field mice. I was drinking a lot at the time soooo.....

I missed a lot.

But I swear...They would move before the BB hit. I would set up a 'mouse run' that would force them to use certain corners of the kitchen.

The gun was on and I wasn't, or I was seeing a few mice. *shrug* good luck!!!

When I moved out of the house I swept up a shitload of BBs!!!

I love out in the woods also.

Beeman R2 air rifle with the .22 barrel.

Since it's scoped, you have to aim a little high, but when I see one of the little fuckers running around, their life expectancy goes way down.

2 things....the image of someone chasing a mouse with a crutch is priceless. Side note, the kids are watching tom and jerry so it fits right in.

The other is that you thought that you may have scared them off with a crutch. I mean jerry gets his ass kicked on the regular and keeps coming back.

Traps with peanut butter.

A cat will be amused for hours on end waiting for the mouse to come out from under the fridge.    I'm not.

Few days of practice he wont miss, hell one day at work, we had a few sparrows get into the shop, I picked up a pipe, took a small nail, and and foam ear plug, made a dart and ask my co worker how much if I hit that bird (25 ft or so).. he told me 50 bucks, boy was he pissed when I pinned that bird to the wall... the best part is with a blow gun its quiet, reusable ammo, and minimal collateral damage....

Yup, this little box of pills will cure your mouse problem:

Double dose of gunpowder, in a rifle all you hear is the hammer drop. In a handgun they sound like a pellet gun. I have heard you can discharge them in an apartment building at 6am and nobody is the wiser.

When my Dad was a kid, he took a .22 short, removed the bullet and powder, put some cotton in the case followed by a wooden match. He shot the little fucker though the chest, where it sat behind the china cabinet, without even scratching the wood floor.
My Dad is awesome!

I shoot them in by crawl space with a 22 birdshot load.  Kinda loud, but not on a saturday afternoon when the lawnmowers are running.

I used a Red Ryder BB gun at about 4 inches.  Entered under the front right shoulder.  Kicked for 5 seconds and was dead less than 30 seconds later.

Little fucker was up on a shelf in my shop and I flushed him into an ambush.
