I think I'm gonna keep the ugly mule-kicking thing.

So I need an extra magazine or 30 to go with it.

I found 'em......$1.97 for a 20-round .308 magazine.

I'm in love.

with prices like that, I can afford to find a decent stock, maybe another rifle.......

Um...do those mags actuially work?

No they're just for display.

lol.

No, I meant, for $2 a pop, can you expect them to work, have good feed lips, springs, and so on.....

military gun supply has them for $1.85 each with $10 flat rate shipping on mags

I've ordered the 1.97 mags before, most worked just fine, some were beautiful a few had small amounts of rust and slight dings. I thnk maybe 2 out of 10 didnt function 100%, but at the price its not a big deal.

actually, it is a big deal.....I'd rather pay 2x as much for a mag I KNEW would work.

function-testing 20-50 .308 mags would get expensive.

Ok, so I ordered 20 mags.

Ain't it crazy how getting a deal on a gun sounds so cool, then you start accessorizing, and pretty soon.......

*sigh*

I think those mags work pretty well.  If they are the G3 aluminum waffle mags, many of them have the HK stamp and date right on them.

Have fun with that!

I think all the current CETME's use a G3 receiver that's stamped for the CETME. The G3 mags should work best. As noted above, from CTD, about 1 or 2 out of 10 are well used or rusty so set those aside and keep the best ones. About 3 or 4 out of 10 were new or near it. The steel G3 mags usually have more rust and wear on the ones I bought.

Must order some this weekend here.

Mine are great, and I had difficulty picking the worst 5 for everyday use. So far, nearly 400 rounds without FTE or FTF.

Mental note: order more mags from CTD

I wish I wouldn't have sold my 91 now

A couple of friends and I ordered 10 each from Cheaper Than Dirt. The dates ranged from early 60's to mid 80's on them. Most looked either new or very slightly used. A few were a little rough looking. Mine all worked fine. The other guys don't even have rifles for them yet, they just really liked mine so they plan on buying one. Hard to beat $1.97 mags.

They just came in.

Some have a tad bit of rust, but all look perfectly functional.

Had to shave a razor-thin amount off the magazine catch area w/ the dremel to make them snap in.

I only did this to one of them. Tonight, I may do the same to the mag catch so the other 19 will snap in without modification.

I just got my 20 pack from MGS and they seem like most are new with some slight rust on the floorplate and one or two has a rust spot on the follower.

not bad for $50
