My current one is showing its age. Time to replace it. When I bought this one, the options were pretty limited. Now there are a bunch.

Looking for:

1.5" or 1.75" black leather semi-gloss belt. Silver (or bright nickel or stainless) hardware. Sized for a 34 waist. Lateral rigidity is extremely important. I appreciate quality.

People suggest Galco and Blade Tech... What else is out there?

In on this one. I've been looking at Hank's Amish belts.

I switched over to 5.11 belt. The dress belt has a very rigid insert perfect for carrying. I bought mine in brown but I'm certain they have black.

In fact I'm not entirely sure how I took so long switching to a specialty carry belt. It makes a huge difference in comfort and ride for the larger frame guns I carry. Glocks

Milt Sparks makes a great leather belt in a large variety of styles and sizes.

Aker B21 is worn by me daily whether it's with a suit and tie or jeans.  Readily available and not too expensive.  It has an insert that stands up well to wearing a medium size semi auto pistol with an OWB holster, double mag pouch, handcuffs and a cell phone.

Same, it's a little thick for plastic clips for phones etc, but I've now had mine for 15+ years.

I've been carrying with an Aker LP224 from Galls Inc. since 2008 and I doubt I'll wear it out in my lifetime.

I have been using a leather belt made by a bootmaker in Clarendon, Texas for over 12 years as my daily wear/dress belt by the name of James Owens.  It is tough as hell for a belt and has taken all I can throw at it. I will be getting another one on my next trip up to see my parents in the Pothandle North of Amarillo.

Mernickle makes nice stuff. 5 year replacement warranty also.

Basic belt here. They do offer fancier options

Good suggestions everyone. Thanks for the contributions.

I've also come across the Alabama Holster Company, they make dress belts. Anyone have experience with them?

This. Have been wearing an aker dress belt since 2004 when I got my chl. Still have my original belt plus a new one that I got a couple years ago since the original was pretty scratched up. New one for work at the office, and the old for work around the house.

Another vote for Milt Sparks. I've owned several over the years, bought for the days when I wore a suit and dressed up more. I also own a couple of Mitch Rosen belts and had the same experience. Both are quality makers and you can't go wrong with either.

A dress belt is not typically 1.5" wide. That is going to look pretty unconventional with a suit. 1 1/4" is more the norm.

I can't say enough good things about Comp-tac.

It's still like brand new, 5 years later. Literally.

Just tried the First Spear belt that SKD (site sponsor). Carries. Really enjoy it and the standard non cobra buckle doesn't pinch little holes in the front of every single.          T-shirt I wear anymore. Black and Tan and not too tactical. Made outta some cool sciencey like stuff.

biothane

Ive had it for 2-3 years and wear it half the time, have swam in salt water 100 times and itshows 0 wear.

What holster are you carrying with?

Raven Eilodon. Sometimes the vanguard but I prefer my pistol off my skin. The belt and holster setup are great nothing else has come close. I'm a small frame gent so most options just weren't quite enough.

I had one of these

Good belt. Supports a G26 in an MTAC very well.

I need to get a new one though, its too big for me now.

Mitch Rosen or Beltman. I have half a dozen Beltman belts, in an age of so so quality etc....they are a refreshing change.

Been using the A Better Belt USA UGB and the Armour Belts have worked great for me and look dressy enough for a 1.25" belt!

Both have great customer service and craftsmanship is amazing!

I have a Galco.  It's thin enough (front to back, not height) that it will fit the belt loops on my suits and dress pants.  The "double thickness" belt I have won't.  I don't think the 1.5" looks out of place on my suits and dress pants, but I am 33yo, fit, wear slim or tailored shirts, and my pants are flat front without cuffs.  If I was an older paunchy, balding man that wore pleated and cuffed slacks, the wider belt might look out of place, but I'm not.  And I live in semi-rural Indiana.  Not exactly a center of high fashion.
