Please spare me the credit cards are evil discussion. I need one for business travel so I do not have to float a $6k flight until expense checks get issued. I do not currently owe anything on my Discover card but I don't think it's the best thing to use for overseas. Travel is to China and Malaysia at the end of the month unfortunately.

I was about to sign up for the Chase Continental Credit Card but they charge 3% transaction fees for foreign purchases. I may not be able to have my employer pay me back those fees. I would like a card with no annual fee but one that gives me airline miles or cash back etc. I am open to Amex but have run into issues in the past with places not taking it and would prefer Visa or MC. I bank with Chase but can do another entity. Thanks for any ideas.

This CapitalOne card looks pretty good. Maybe if I get one they will stop showing those retarded viking commercials...

IMO Amex is the best for travel.  They usually have the best rewards and overseas support.  I've got one through Costco.  There are no annual fees other than my Costco membership.  I get 3% back on gas and restaurants, 2% on travel, and 1% on everything else.  The majority of my travel expenses are flights and hotels.  All of the airlines and most of the hotels I've dealt with accept Amex.  I also carry a Visa for places that don't.

AMEX Blue.

I work for an multi-national based company. AMEX is more widely accepted overseas.  The Blue card gives you rewards.

Have the company supply you with a card.
Are you paying for the flights out of your own money?  F%%% THAT
If the company can't or won't reimburse, you're up shit creek.

I use a Chase card connected to Priority Club/ Holiday Inn.
Earn points then convert to Cabelas gift cards.

$6k of my own money? Hah. I typed that they reimburse me in the OP, but it can take up to two weeks and if I am in China when they cut the check that doesn't do me much good.

Amex is ok but I've been out of country in places they don't take it and that royally sucks. A decent hotel in Shanghai is not cheap.
