After much debating with a friend, I dont think that one single song can hold the title of Best Metal Guitar intro. Here are some of the ones we though of in no order. Let me know if I forgot any.Any Death/Thrash/Power/Black, ect.

Judas Priest -Bloodstone-This video is an AMV, but original Bloodstone from Screaming for V album

Bloodstone intro

Saxon-Crusader

Crusader

Iron Maiden-Number of the Beast/Run to the Hills: Kind of a toss up here. Comeon, its Maiden, all of them are the best

#ofthebeast

run to the hills

Black Sabbath-Paranoid:This was very likely the first metal intro.

paranoid

There are a ton more that I want to put up, but its big sandwich time now.

OK - you had Paranoid on your list. I don't have to get angry and cuss at you.

Carry on.

FWIW, while we're talking Sabbath - I also love the mood set by the intro guitar in "Black Sabbath" and "Children of the Grave."

Note: Does anyone else thing Metallic robbed the intro for "The Thing That Should Not Be" straight from "Black Sabbath?"

Phantom of the opera -Iron Maiden
(a few older brits will recognise this from the Lucozade commercial with Daley Thompson)

Eruption-Van Halen

Intro to Metallica's "damage incorporated."

I'm not even sure it's a guitar, but it sounds cool as hell.

Into the Lungs of Hell - Megadeth

Not really metal, but 'Hot for teacher' has to get an honorable mention at the least.
Eruption is definitely on the list as well.

Now if we are sticking to metal only, "Walk" by Pantera is a classic riff, "Hells bells" from AC/DC is on the list, "The More things change" by Machine Head is awesome, "Regret" by Fear Factory....the list is really too big to name just one.

There must be some strange alternative usage for the word "best" that I haven't been made aware of....
