Otterbox Reflex or Commuter. The Defender is too bulky for me.

Will the Magpul 5 case work with aftermarket headphones and sync cables?

I loved my Magpul 3s case but the 4/4s version wasn't compatible with any of my sync cables or headphones so I threw it in the garbage.

Do the otter boxes cover the screen with a plastic cover or anything?

The defender does, the others don't.

Lifeproof. I swim and listen to music from my phone thanks to my lifeproof case. Its the best casemade andit is far thinner than an otterbox and far better protection than the Magpul case.

The Otterbox Defender for the Iphone 5 is a much better design than the 4/4s.  It's a nice looking case as well

This is what I use.      Cuts down on the speaker noise so it's kinda hard to hear in louder environments, but I have to have a waterproof case for my line of work.

lifeproof with the added advice that they are not waterproof 100% of the time...

my first one was... the replacement the charging door has never been waterproof
not all that durable though have had three that have come apart at the corners and we dont practice any of the active lifestyle these cases are depicted as
Lifeproof replaces the cases for me no problems there

BUT.... they are not bulky and they have survived a few falls and one dunking and that is why I will continue to use them
