If you've got a basement build your own safe. I did out of concrete filled blocks with rebar and love the space of my gun closet. I sold the wife on the idea by telling her it'll double as a storm shelter and it does have all of our supplies in there as well. Dehumidifier with a hose going to the sump pump and a ceiling fan for air circulation (as well as a few blocks turned on their sides). Steel door with dead bolts provide access and like any safe if a person really wants to get in and has the time they will get in to it. To help with that later will be a heat sensor/alarm for the door, a motion alarm on the inside of the room in case they start trying to bust down the walls, second row of concrete filled blocks, false walls on the outside to cover it up and suspended ceiling inside with sound deadener so I can listen to my music without bothering anyone else upstairs. I don't know what the total cost was but I was under $1,500 for sure.
