I used to love "Swat" when I was a kid, but now it seems pretty lame.

My favorite right now is "Hill Street Blues", very entertaining characters and a nice balance of humor & action.

My least favorite was "Dragnet", just too dull, and too one sided, supporting LEO's.

"Tour of Duty".

After all, Vietnam was just a "police action", right?

I like watching Cops on CourtTV every evening (8 and 8:30 EST), and laughing my ass off at the stupid excuses people give.

"Yeah, officer, I swear I've never seen that bag of pot before, it must be my cousin's."
"Then why was your driver's liscense IN the bag of pot?"
*guy starts running*

I have only seen some reruns, but have to throw it out. The G-man's old show, Miami Vice.

"The Rockford Files"

I don't know why, but I just love that show.
Jimbo riding around in that gold Firebird, with his dirtbag friend "Angel".
How may times did he get the crap beat out of himself while coming back to his Malibu trailer with groceries (...big black eye, oranges rolling under the trailer...)?

PBRstreetgang,
I stand corrected, "Cops" is the best.

If they had those "perps" on a fictional show, no one would believe it. It also shows you some peace officers are good and decent and some should turn in their badges.

kharn got it too.
all those fictional shows end up pissing me off at some point, and then i have to go into an hour-long rant.

COPS never fails to brighten my day. i love the looks on dumbasses faces when they try to bs the cops.

educational too... i learned that if they want you to get in the car- just get in it. because you WILL be in the car- 8 more cops and beating later...[BD]

i love it when they stand on the bad boys heads.

though, that new chick on nypd blue is AMAZING![:P]happened to catch the episode where she took off her shirt- i was riveted.

Adam 12.  Still love that show.

Does anybody happen to remember the name of the cop show set in Las Vegas during the early 60's?
It had one of my favorite episodes, 2 mob guys hide out in one of the houses on a nuke test site and get blasted.

POLICE STORY, especially the 2 hour series pilot starring Vic Morrow with a shotgun, and Chuck Conners as "Slowboy".

I'm dating myself now, but.....
San Francisco Beat, from the 1950's
M Squad, starring Lee Marvin
The Naked City, from the 50's
and one starring Howard Duff, (can't remember the name).

The Andy Griffith Show. I'm serious. It was on a fundamental level a show about two cops. For a couple of hillbillys Andy and Barney did some outstanding crime fighting.
