Less than 30 dollars. What are the best bourbons for less than that?

Less than $30 for what, 750ml or a handle?
Because that would make a YUGE difference in my suggestions. |

I have no palate;
$20 for the BIG BOTTLE Early Times tastes as good to me as Knob Creek, and I like it better than Jim Beam. Tried some others, always came back. I'm Kentucky Whisky Drinker, not a Bourbon Snob. |

Evan Single Barrel. ~$24
Cannot be beaten for that price....and I'm someone that always hated Evan. |
|
750 or 1.75?
Evan Williams Single Barrel for a 750, Jim Beam Black and Jim Beam Devil's Cut for 1.75. |

@Kubota3430 knows
Also Buffalo Trace or Maker's if you like the wheat taste. |

Wild Turkey 101, Evan Williams Single Barrel, or W.L. Weller

Evan Williams 1.75 is about $22 here on the Cajun Prairie. Good stuff.

+1 Early Times. Makes a good mint julep, and is surprisingly good over ice. When I'm flush, Bulleit; when I'm feeling indulgent, Maker's Mark.
Never won a jackpot: if I did, Woodford Reserve or Blanton's. |

I don't claim to be an expert. My local liquor store has a pretty good selection of bourbon, though. I asked my bourbon guy at the store what he recommends, and he told me that because bourbon has certain regulations, Jim Beam White, Evan Williams, etc. are pretty much equivalent at that price range.

Evan Williams white label, or single barrel (I prefer the white label)
Old Granddad Bonded Henry McKenna 10yr Bonded Jim Beam Bonded Jim Beam Double Aged Old Forester Charter 101 Old Ezra 101 JW Dant Bonded JTS Brown Bonded Four Roses Eagle Rare Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star Early Times 354 Bourbon |

Rebel Yell Small Batch Rye is surprisingly good. Not complex but good for sipping neat.

Old Forester does it for me on the cheap - when I want a Bourbon. It is my bare minimum quality. If they're out (rarely) I grab Bulliet.
I prefer rum, though, so YMMV. |

This is the truth. Nothing, I mean nothing, comes close at that price. I'm drinking the 2004 one now. It's fantastic. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Elijah Craig Single Barrel
Old Granddad 114 WL Weller and, if it's on sale, 4 Roses Small Batch these are all wonderful bourbons and more than good enough to serve to anyone. |

It's tough for me because we pay out the ass for hard alcohol in Montana (control state FTW ), so I'll go $20-40 range to be in the $30 ballpark.
Eagle Rare. Four Roses - Yellow Label or definitely FR Single Barrel (but more $$$, about $45 here for SB) Buffalo Trace. Evan Williams Single Barrel. Those will do what a bourbon needs to do. Really, the answer is there are a ton of great bourbons available for reasonable prices. |
