a 1968 Hemi Dart.

Despite the strict disclaimer concerning the '68 Hemi Dart, it was too much of a deal for true racers to pass up. With 600 hp (about 480 at the wheels) in a car weighing in at 2150 pounds without the driver, this incredible monster tore up the quarter mile in the mid-low 10s @ 130-135 mph, with minor tuning. The sound of the majestic elephant breathing through open headers was a deafening song unlike any other--you cannot truly comprehend the sound of an uncorked Competition Hemi until you hear it.

Yep, except in these colors.

I wish I could find a better pic of these colors, but Google image search isn't helping much.

... Some of the fondest memories of my life involved driving my '69 Camaro all over town as a kid.

... Was young (18/19) and built her up rather nicely. Had a fairly warmed-over small-block, 4-speed and 4.11 rear. Painted midnight blue, hood scoop and nice interior. Had a killer 8-track stereo in it.

... Was a chick magnet! Man, I could do no wrong back then.

70 LS6 Chevelle or a 70 Buick GS. I actually had the GS but it had the 455 swapped for a 350 before I got it. Lord only knows why. I will post a pic in a bit. I am also quite fond of the 70' Nova SS.

The Judge is a slick ride...

..and I actually like the Dart despite it's homeliness:

The Cuda is badass as well...

...and the Charger r/t was a fantastic bad guy car (remember bullit?) and has evil appeal

The Camaro is an obvious classic...

...but I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Superbee

Personally, I like the Superbird but I don't have any pics of a real one.

Here is a pic of the 70' GS I had. Not the greatest pic but it's the only one I have. It was originally a 455 Stage 1 car but some fool swapped in a 350 w/ TH350 tranny in place of the 455 and TH400. I bought it with intentions to return it to glory but it proved fr too expensive and I got rid of it shortly after.

Not sure I'd call it the best muscle car, but she was mine at one time.  I transformed her from a frog shit green granny mobile to what is shown above.

(edit)
Hard to tell from photo but that is a deep green.  Actually Empriral Jade Mice (found on toyota products).  I only went with green exterior because it had a factory dark green interior which was in really good shape.

I don't know about that plate on the front of the the Boss though. BOS HEMI. Yes the 429 is a semi hemispherical (semi hemi) head engine but I think I would leave the HEMI plate to the Dodge's.

Ive got a 71 GS-350 car in my garage that needs "the glory" returned to it.  78k original miles, still even has the OEM Quadrajet on it.  Havent driven it in about 5 years now, 2/3rds disassembled.  It started its life in the nasty GM green that most hated, 350/auto, 308 rear, dark green bench interior, green vinyl top.  When  I bought it I spent most of my nights doing minor body work inspired as they come.  Bought a new house and havent touched it since.  I have changed my ideas on paint color about as many times as I've been out there staring at it .....hoping someone would come finish it for me.  Black, prowler purple, red, yellow, pearl green, and so on.   I have 70 Riv buckets/console that it is begging for, an original GSX wing, all the chrome & pot metal pieces have been redone, bumpers ....yada yada.  Pretty sad now that I speak of it.  hinking.gif

1968 GTO Silver, black interior, 4 speed.  Get somebody to paint the Judge stripes on in Daytona Orange and Indianapolis Yellow.  The first car I ever drove, in my step-dad's lap.  Or the neighbor's blue '68 Corvette.  Or the Vietnam vet down the street with the leg brace who had an orange Hemi Superbird, can't remember what year it was...

This would have been right around this time of the year in 1971 when we met the guy with the SuperBird.  It very well could've been a '70.  He lived not too far away from us.  He stopped because my uncle was sitting outside in his wheelchair.  My uncle had muscular dystrophy all his life, but he was the right age to be in Vietnam and this guy figured he was another vet.  We moved away from this neighborhood but I know he still had the car a few years later.  I don't know what became of it, but it would've been an original Florida car.  The sun might've got the paint, but I imagine the frame and body would have very little rust if any.
