We all, obviously, share a common interest in firearms. I was wondering what some of you guys like to do besides shooting? As much as I love to shoot and talk guns, that represents only one of my interests.

I love the outdoors, boating, hiking, camping. I also have been snowboarding for 10 years and absolutely love doing that. Since my move to Florida, the snow isn't an option any more, so I've taken up wake boarding. It's as close to snowboarding as South Florida gets.

Fishing too. I've been all over the place to catch quality fish. From Alaska for salmon and halibut, to Mexico for marlin and many places in between.

So, what do you folks like to do besides sending lead down range?

Uuuuuhhh...What other interests?

I enjoy hunting(deer kind of) but mainly dove.  I also fish(bass) use to fish tournaments and guide some around Georgia.  Still enjoy it though.  Also enjoy skiing but don't get to do that except every several years.

Writing, martial arts, history, role-playing games, medieval reenactment, Japan (not anime... history) pretty much all-around overeducated single straight guy in Austin gamer geek stuff.

Oh. I am interested in women too, but I wouldn't call them a hobby. They get mad when you do that.

Well, while you guys ARe pressing your flowers into books (or whatever) and the SHTF, that noise you heAR off in the distance will be Dolomite.

I've no time for "hobbies".  I regARd people with interests other than shooting as "weak".

History.       Cuz those who don't learn from it are condemned to repeat it.

Woodworking.       Cuz making it is cheaper than buying it. And you end up with better stuff.

history, travel, camping, computers, photography, CW reenacting, reloading. i read a lot, spend time with my family and dogs. ive got a little car collection starting, too. need to sell them, need more cash for ammo.

while it is all fine and good to spend all one's free time with guns, i aspire to a broader understanding of the world than simply target/non-target.

Wasn't it G. W. F. Hegel that said, "History teaches us that man learns nothing from history"?

Anyway, other interest include books (old and new), coins, car repair, motorcycles, women (when the wife isn't watching [;)], rappelling and cave exploration.  Various others that come and go.

Aside from gunz and shooting sportz, I fence (thus the name).  I play a lot of computer games, especially first person shooter games, and some strategy games.

Used to be into roleplaying games, but don't have a lot of time for such things anymore.

Well if I'm not cleaning and playing with my guns [heavy], I'm polishing and playing with my other favorite thing in life [sex].

Seriously, I tried to diversify when I bought a motorcycle two years ago, but there's no denying it now. My head is so full of guns and porn there's hardly room for anything else in there.

Music, music, music - I play bass, guitar and drums, and I've been in bands since I was a kid.  I don't do it much anymore, but I used to even hire myself out as a merc on drums.  Other than that, I'm into the usual artsy-fartsy NYC thing; art, film, architecture/design. Throw in a little poetry (preferably a little acid induced ranting by Ginsberg), some weightlifting, Constitutional law, some Jack Daniels and aimless meandering around SoHo/E.Village at 3 am and you've got a fairly good picture of me.

RC Gliders

Pylon racing mostly,  check out www.gliderking.com

I happen to be fairly good at it and went to the worlds for F3F in 2000 in Portugal,  hoping to make the team for 2002 in April for the Slovakia trip in September.  Most of the folks that I fly with consider me a given for the team.

Here's a pic of me launching Bob's plane

I'm an avid martial artist/kickboxer.  I've had fights on MSG and one on ESPN2 (what a rush that was).

I fish when I can.

I used to be on a bowling league but I suck big time.  One day I had my high and low of all times.  fist game bowled a 150, second my high of 283 and finally my last game my low of 26.  It was bad.

Well after reading some of the posts here I clearly forgot a few of my interests.

Women.....how that slipped my mind I don't know. Maybe it falls in to more of an obsesssive/compulsive disorder than simply an interest.

Traveling....I'm always planning my next adventure. Could be Bali/Tahiti....could be Thailand/Nepal. I've covered pretty much most of the world other than those places I've mentioned. There is no education that compares to what you learn while discovering what the rest of the world is up to. College was a 4 year p*ssy-fest. Sorry to be blunt, but degrees in history and psychology(undergrad) didn't line me up for any particular career. It was an amazing experience though, that's for damn sure. Many, many, MANY very fond memories.

My dog(if dingus reads this he'll be all over me.) What can I say, he's the best. I've never known a human being that's as consistantly thrilled to see me as he is. Loyal, well behaved, bad ass dog.(6 year old rottie) He's covered more ground and shared more adventures with me than any single person ever has.

Scuba diving. Love it. Can you say "free lobsters"? Spear fishing too.

Music, couldn't live without it. I can't play an instrument, but some day will give it a try.

Probably a lot of other stuff I'm leaving out, but whatever, that's good enough.

Either that's the most obscure reference to oral sex I've ever seen, or you spend a lot of time on the river.

My current hobbies are just guns and reloading, with a little reading thrown in.  I have plenty of ex-hobbies, including computers, guitars, pipe-smoking, and making pool cues.

Like someone once said: nothing ruins a hobby quicker than doing it for a living.  I began messing with computers because it was fun but now I groan whenever anyone asks me for computer help, and I only upgrade my OS when there's a gun pressed to my head.

Ever heard the axiom; If you love a hobby don't do it for a career?

Well, - I loved the law... After becoming a cop it just fueled my interest more. I collected fiction / non-fiction books, movies, documentaries, you name it. I was a Discovery channel junkie...

So, - I went to law school and now I can't wait to get out of this hell hole to move to a nice quite cabin off a logging road in Montana with my old K Mart bike and ratty jeans... to let my hair grow long and pick through junkyards.

(But I still like guns!)(and Audi's / VW's)

KUJO!  Where in IL are you - I'm a cop between jobs so I might be able to help.
