My wife bought this Enfield 303Brit at the gun show today. I cant find any markings, is it a mk11 or mk111, how do you tell? .

I don't know a lot about Enfields. I think you can tell a lot by where the rear site is located. I doubt that is the original stock and the front site guard is really throwing me.

Beef jerky show....heheheh I get it. The markings are usually around that metal band above the trigger. If the gun has flip-up vernier sights, you have a No.4 MkI or MkII. You see a lot of No.4's sporterized like yours. Too many, IMO. I like the milsurp look better. If you see a date in the 1940's, it's also probably a No.4 MkI or MkII. I'm not a big Enfield expert, but I have been looking into buying one so I know a little.

The problem with beef jerky shows is all the weirdos showing up with their guns.

The beef jerky at the gun shows doesn't bother me that much, but there's something about the idea of a "Beef Jerky Show" that has my mouth watering....

No.4's had a peep sight on the rear rec. bridge. That looks like a No. 1 'butcherized' into a sporter. They're not the world's most accurate rifle, it's best to slug the barrel & check the bore diameter. It should be about .312" many are way over and will not group well unless the barrel is replaced.
