I would choose dehydrated, though you may prefer smoked. |

Try both, I smoke and dry my jerky. The smoked jerky dosen't need as much pre-seasoning. You will also need to watch the smoked jerky as I noticed it dries faster. You should give both a try and do a comparison test.

When I was in Alaska, I smoked tons of caribou and moose jerky on a Little Chief electric smoker.
T'was tasty stuff. 
Never tried it on a dehydrator. Let us know how it turns out. |

Personal preference in my opinion, I like both methods, but lean more towards smoked.

Smoked seems to.turn out better but the dehydrator is sooo easy

Cold smoke for an hour first, the dehydrate. Nothing worse than oversmoked jerky.

What is cold smoke? Can I do it on an egg?
