Armed only with rubber bullets? Bullshit. I was almost going to buy that maybe he had beanbag rounds for a shotgun with him, besides his pistol, but as part of a tactical unit? |

Even if he was armed with a LL gun, I'm willing to bet he had his standard sidearm with him and his partners had standard long guns with them.
ETA: BORTAC is well trained and are top notch agents, I don't think for a second their ROE limited them to LL weapons only. The article is thin on facts. |

You may be totally spot on. But Im done trusting these people. And we all better start asking questions and demanding facts. |

BORTAC guys are highly skilled, highly trained guys. I'd say, the top 10% of agents that try out for it. These guys are not slackers and the washout rate is very high. I've heard it's like 60 to 80%.
It pisses me off that Nutjob Napolitano is still fucking us over on border security and she is down-playing this agent's death trying to say that illegal crossings and murders/criminal activity is down. While I do see less illegals being arrested and processed at this moment, at least in my county and by my agency, it is still an issue and needs to be fixed. Illegals still commit a majority of crimes here in AZ. She keeps saying that the border is a secure as it has ever been. Bullshit.

I read the attached examiner.com article were the guy claims he has received info that Agent Terry only had bean bags. The author clearly has no clue as to the mission or ROE for Border Patrol and BORTAC.
BORTAC is as elite as any other SF group. they are the best trained agents the Border Patrol has to offer. There is no way he was armed with nothing more than less-lethal rounds. |
