“Be all that you can be…”Posted by David Kramer on August 2, 2009 07:08 AM …as a United States Army Internment/Resettlement Specialist. Direct hotlinks mentioned in blog post: GoArmy.com iHispano.com (The Professional Latino Network) Monster.com Did anybody already know about this 'specialty'? Is it nothing new, apart from being news to me? Sounds like they are getting away from having MP's run the detention facilities with a dedicated MOS for it. Doesn't strike me as odd. Makes sense to free up the MP's to take care of stuff like convoy protection and force protection which lets the rest of the war fighters focus on their mission. |
|
When I was in the Army Reserves I belonged to an MP Battalion (EPW) that had the mission of running an EPW Camp. It was changed to an (I/R) Battalion to reflect that the Army may have to run camps for refugees as well.
I suspect that they have created a new MOS to run these camps so they can use MP's for other missions. Just my two cents. |

Some idiot/troll posted that on classifieds. It isn't a real Army posting.

Does Posse comitatus. allow Natl. Guard and Army to be seconded to it?

I'm pretty sure the Army is just looking for correctional officer types to serve in POW camps and whatnot.
Nothing conspiring here, move along...... |

Need to fill the jobs...with the upcoming GITMO closure, will need to put the people somewhere... their own countries won't take them so to spur the US economic growth...old run down areas, such as closed auto factories will be retrofitted into prisons, prisoners will be moved into there and people will join the army, become a prison guard, become gainfully employed with medical benefits, have money to spend at local economy...win win...Now I knwo some of you won't like the prisoners being housed on US soil but part of the change is to close GITMO and well, change you asked for change you get and we are fixing the economy and bringing back jobs. If you are against this plan then you are against jobs and economic recovery...therefore you hate america

I was in the Army from Jul/99 - Oct/06
For the first 4 years I was a Corrections Specialist stationed at Ft. Leavenworth guarding the military prisoners. The Us Army runs prisons at Ft. Leavenworth, Ft. Knox, Ft. Sill, Ft. Lewis, Mannheim, Germany and Camp Jackson i believe in Korea. Now they also have the war prison at Gitmo. When I joined up it was Classified at a 95C - Corrections Specialist Sometime later they converged MOS's and changed the code to a 31E - Interment resettlement Specialist. New high speed name, same shitty job. Any questions as me. |
