So Netflix has all seasons of Battlestar Galatica (the new one not the cheesy 70s version) on instant stream and I've been watching them one after the other.  I just finished with the season finale and WOW. What a great series.  Excellent character development and one of the best story arcs I've seen done. Everything finished in a season finale that was just pure win.

If you are like me and never gave it a chance while it was on TV, watch it commercial free on Netflix.

Does anyone here follow the spin off Caprica? Is it as good as Battlestar Galatica and worth watching?

I have watched all but the last episode, I am getting ready to watch it again but with the wife this time so I will abstain till the end of this time.  I have heard that Caprica is not as good as BSG but I have not watched it yet so well see.

I WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE IN THIS THREAD SO PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL ME ON THE LAST EPISODE.

Caprica has a couple beautiful women in it, but is otherwise one of the worst TV shows ever made.

I love BSG. Amazing show...I know the ending pissed some people off but I feel that it was perfect...it was a great ending to the show. I will most likely watch the whole series again with the wife (who loves it as well).

The ending is one of the most debated parts of the entire show, and I bet that this thread will head that direction shortly so if you want to be kept in the dark you may want to stay out of the thread....

I really liked the ending, but I knew when I saw it that nerds the world over would be lighting torches and sharpening pitchforks.

Yeah I think I am going to stop right here.  I have listened to a Lost podcast for a couple of years and they are the ones who inspired me to watch the show but they did say the same thing about the ending that's why I am going to wait on watching it.  There has been a lot revealed but I imagine there can be lots more in one episode look at what happened with Lost.

What I would like to see is a series done about the FIRST war with the Cylons. Something that really details the revolt and the Cylons rise from slavery.

It had its ups and downs but overall I loved the series.  Liked the finale...except for that last little bit.  You know the one I'm talking about.

The end of BSG made me regret ever starting to watch it in the first place.

Epic FAIL.

I've never been real clear on how the detractors think it should have ended. Seemed pretty good to me.

I'm glad I gave up on it

It really pissed me off it seemed like every character turned into a dipshit at one point or another. I always hated Baltar from the start. Others I hated at some point or another, including Adama.

I've wondered the same thing...I honestly don't see how else it could have ended. I mean after taking the entire series into account, any other ending IMO would have not done it justice.

Very good series until the end.  Then it was all:  Frack!  bang...

Series finale was crap.

I don't know if SyFy still has them available, but if you can find them, check out Ron Moore's podcasts that go with each episode.  Ron recorded a commentary for each episode.  They provide insight of why things went like they did, and how they could've gone.

This, absolutely.  And it took me a little while to realize it.  It had to sink in.  I absolutely loved the series until the very end.  I watch and rewatch shows that I love (SG1, heh).  But I have no seen a single episode of BSG since the finale aired...

I just started with the 3rd episode of the 1st season on Netflix streaming. The 1st two episodes (I think  are they miniseries) is only available on disc. Will I be lost without seeing those 1st two episodes?

I didn't get to see the first two episodes either so I guess I didn't watch the whole season, but I was never losed and able to follow the story pretty well.
