The Plan (TV movie)

On August 7, 2008 SciFi Channel officially announced the production
of a two-hour TV movie which was originally supposed to air after the
final episode of Season 4. The movie began production on September 8, 2008.[18]
The movie is scheduled to premiere exclusively on DVD, Blu-ray and
digital download on October 27, 2009 and tentatively scheduled to air
in 2010 on SciFi. Written by Jane Espenson and directed by Edward James Olmos, The Plan
storyline begins before the attack on the 12 colonies and will show
events mainly from the perspective of two Cylon agents, Cavil and
Anders.[19]
Tricia Helfer states that the disappearance of Shelly Godfrey in "Six
Degrees of Separation" will be explained. IGN reports scenes including
Aaron Doral preparing for the suicide bombing seen in "Litmus", Anders
awakening in a Cylon resurrection chamber, and Cavil berating Boomer
for failing to kill William Adama in "Kobol's Last Gleaming". In
addition to Shelly Godfrey, there is a dark-haired Six called "Tough
Six" in the script. A sneak peek was made available by SciFi on June
12, 2009, showing Cavil and Ellen Tigh during the events of "33".
Confirmed cast members include Olmos, Michael Trucco, Aaron Douglas and Dean Stockwell. All the actors playing Cylons have been confirmed for the movie, except Lucy Lawless.[20] Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, Rick Worthy, Matthew Bennett, Callum Keith Rennie, Michael Hogan and Rekha Sharma will also feature.[18]

On July 24, 2009, Edward James Olmos stated that The Plan will not be the last BSG movie.[21]

I rather just watch the original series again at hulu.com. I liked it better when the robots could talk and it wasn't all about clone spies.

Wow... not even past page 1? What happened to all the BSG fans?

I think I know... I started watching it tonight. As soon as iit started I wasn't digging it. My feelings haven't changed after about an hour... at which point I started dozing off. I'll finish it tomorrow maybe.

I think part of what I don't like about it is it's trying to explain things that's didn't entirely need explaining... and it's not so much that as this: as they were making the series it was obvious they didn't have a definite direction. I'm sure they never intended to make as many of the front line cats members Cylons... so this almost seems more like "Nah... we knew what we were doing all along."

Granted my impression of the Caprica pilot wasn't much better. Once the series ended I pretty much let go. Unless Caprica goes in a really cool direction the only redeeming scenes in that movie were the ones with the Cylon machine. The rest of it was boring too.

Anywho... make your own choice but I wouldn't recommend wasting your time.
