I need to pick up a giftcard from the theater for my little brother's birthday Sunday. Might go see it Friday while I'm there if it's not too crowded.
Quoted: What part reminds you of District 9? I sort of agree with the OP. The way they edited the trailers for District 9 it looked like it was going to be an all out alien invasion or something. And all it was about was some paper pusher turning into Michael Jackson. Let's hope it's better than D9 |
Meh. I'm tired of movies about aliens invading. Would be better if it were a Chinese sneak attack.
I will be at the theater this Friday. I hope it lives up to the billing.
Didn't care for District 9, so I hope it's totally different.

Quoted:
What part reminds you of District 9? District Nine and Monsters with a touch of Cloverfield thrown in for good measure. It's an allegory of the (illegal) alien invasion of the US, Europe, etc. It is an invasion that threatens to destroy us. <–– yeah, that part. |
Oh I thought it was D9 part II. Good to know that it is not, or I would have been pissed/ lost when I watched it.

Does it destroy mass square miles of third world ghettos, and catapult the millions of illegal aliens back home?
Quoted: Quoted: What part reminds you of District 9? illegal alien invaders? Just destroying the cities Americans won't. |

2+ hours of shaky cam and bad dialogue. I can't wait!
(yes, I am going to see it) |
Independence Day was mediocre the first time around, but I'll probably see this version2.0 anyway.
if its gonna be a shaky cam movie i dont want to see it i hate those. I will be waiting for reviews.
I'm promoting a screening of this tonight in Portland. Let you know if it is any good.

Saw it in a sneak preview on base Sunday.
Good film, you won't be dissapointed |

I plan on seeing it.
Lets hope it doesn't have a message. Like the aliens are tired of us allowing man made global warming and are kicking our ass to set us straight. |
Read somewhere that the actors went to a two week marine boot camp to get the weapons handling and terminology down...
We'll see... |
Going to see it tonight.
Scored a pair of freebies on GoFobo.com (Free movies, before they hit the street) |

Roger Ebert panned the film, giving it half of one star, heavily criticizing the writing, effects designs, camerawork and editing, stating "Generations of filmmakers devoted their lives to perfecting techniques that a director like Jonathan Liebesman is either ignorant of, or indifferent to. Yet he is given millions of dollars to produce this assault on the attention span of a generation." Netflix for me also. |

bad reviews and all i'll prob go see it with my dad anyway. I generally dont let reviewers decide if i go or not o prefer to draw my own conclusion.

There’s something oddly refreshing about a war movie that makes no effort to humanize its characters. Pity the entire movie is made from the parts of a dozen other, better movies, and shot in a manner that suggests the cameraman is riding a pogo stick. I'll pass. |

Duh...Hollyweird isn't original anymore. This is Skyline, Independence Day, War of the Worlds all wrapped into one. But I will still see it because it's SciFi and it's something all ARFCOMMERS wanna see. Whether it's the Zombie or Alien invasion, this is still a training film. |

This looks like the POV from the .mil. Moving today and tomorrow, working tonight, but I'm taking my 3 boys on Sunday. |
