Didn’t Alicia Keys sing some song about that?
You know, that song that always made me change the channel when it came on. |

If only there had been a male firefighter who identified as a woman.

To be totally fair, controlled burns getting out of hand is a fairly common occurrence.

Maybe they need to stick to designing college bridges in Florida.

I’m surprised that this happened because women are very in touch with nature, especially since 97% of them are the great great great granddaughter of a Cherokee princess.

I have tons of stories of women in the fire service. Some good, some bad.

I am so tired of the whole “strong, powerful women, smashing glass barriers” shtick. At work we had to celebrate a new Division Chief whom was only the 14th woman to ever hold that position in the Division’s 16 year history

Having done a lot of burns in my day, they do get out of control from time to time.

It's not a case of "gurrl power!" but instead a case of grift at every level, people not following regs or good engineering practice. It's a complete failure of oversight and engineering at every level. It has nothing to do with women vs. men. |

In the fire service, there probably isn't any more insulting or demeaning thing a officer could do to you than order someone to take your tool away.
I once saw an officer order a male firefighter to take a tool out of the hands of a female firefighter and perform the task she'd been assigned. She was taking forever to do it due to her diminutive size and strength, and the boss was tired and wanted to get the fuck out of there. The one time I was seriously burned (2nd and 3rd degree), I had the nozzle at a job with a heavy fire condition, where two rescues were made. While we were washing down, my officer had to order me off the fire floor, after I ignored his first two friendly suggestions that I give up the knob. I kept telling him, "I'm good. We're almost done here." (I wasn't good. I was already in a lot of pain.) |

Because I remember that bridge being touted by the university, and engineering firm, that it was designed by women, and they were making a big deal out of that. You know, colleges DEI bullshit. |
