Lighting on the Eagle looks different than the lighting on the grave stones.

The article said that the photographer took a few dozen pics from different angles and that all those didn't look photochopped.

So now the scales are tipping in favor of non-chopped.

Wow, that eagle gets around.

This  is not directed at the OP-  I always wonder how people can be so stupid as to fall for online scams but then you see how many belive every freaking chain email that comes down the pipe.  I guess I need to go into the scam business.

If you post it one more time in ARFcom, it won't be any more real. Yes, it's photoshopped, even if someone submitted it as an amateur photo to a newspaper.

From the article OP posted:

A quick recap: Amateur photographer Frank Glick was on his way to work when he drove through Fort Snelling National Cemetery early one morning. He spotted a bald eagle through the mist, perched on a gravestone, and snapped shots with his aging but ever-present camera.

Nice shot, he thought.

An acquaintance saw the photo and suggested that he see if the deceased soldier had any living relatives who might want it. Indeed, Maurice Ruch's widow was alive and well and delighted to receive a copy of the eagle watching over her beloved husband.

It couldn't have been taken this AM as I saw it 2 or 3 weeks ago making the Interweb rounds.

Why does the huge Eagle not throw a shadow like the headstones?

Damn, that must be that eagle's favorite grave stone.

In all the pictures, he's always sitting on the same one.

No one is disputing that it's a cool picture.  It is.

But it most certainly WAS NOT taken this morning and it is pretty obviously photoshopped.
