Details comming up.
Wisconsin Assembly voted 64-34 on the override Gov Doyle's veto of the Personal protection act. Two votes shy of the needed 66 votes to override the veto. On a side note the Wisconsin Supreme court will be hearing a CCW case in Febuary, and I hope to God they make good on thier threat to fix this issue if the legislature does not. They failed to rectify the situation twice so now it's in the courts hands. The peasantry cannot be allowed to take up arms.
I wonder how many of your politicians promised you support then shit on you in the vote? Make them pay at the polls. |
No guys Red_beards wasw a I'm optimistic its going to pass post, this is a it didn't pass post. I hit submit the second they said it didn't pass. sorry not a dupe. |
Well, at least the dupe police showed up.
On topic. There is something fundamentally wrong with a governing body that won't let the populace exercise their RIGHT to carry arms. I for one can not wait until I get the opportunity to leave this state. I am hopeful that our future elected officials will do the right thing before I am forced to leave this state out of pure frustration. |
Actually the courts might do something even better than this bill, do you think?
Fuck it I'll risk the fucking misdameaner I don't give a shit anymore.
no problem he was updating it as the results came in... I just hope these asshats lose their jobs in november, and there's no governor doyle to give the cushy state jobs they were likely promised. |
I am on the same page as you. This and the rediculous taxes and tax assesment policies here have got me seriously thinking about how I can move out of this state. If only I weren't loyal to the family business that operates here...or if only I could convince the family to move it somewhere else. |
Thats what I'm holding out for. I never was fan of this particular bill, but still I would rather have the shitty bill and be legal..... |
Remember we'll be losing something like 20 people after this year. I know two repubs that are running, I'll be working on one of thier comapaigns. They are both pro CCW so that will help us next year if the courts don't fix this shitty situation like they threatened to do. |
If you knew half the shit Ive been through you'd understand. |
So you are going to break the law? Go ahead give gun owners more bad press. |
For those of us out of state, what have the courts proposed to do about it? CO |
It really is the way to go. Carried by 6 vs. judged by 12. Tag |
Why a misdemeanor? I thought open carry was legal there? |
That sucks because our governor Kathleen Syphilis did the same thing to us about a year ago.
She didnt think it was right to arm the people who put her in office. Election coming up I will remember her vote. |
the problem with the court is sykes is gone to the federal bench, and a former conservative vote has now sided with the doyle administration and trial laywers. I hold out no hope for sanity from a state supreme court that rules a business can be sued for a product that the plaintiffs can't even show the company made. They will not be bound by the constitution or prior rulings - merely what they as liberals want to see happen. |
It is. He is talking about Carrying Concealed. |
Even open carry, though not technically illegal will get you charged with disturbing the peace in most places in Wisconsin.
Yah, but my point was why worry about concealed then? Just strap a Peacemaker to your hip and lash it down, and wander around that way Sure, the local law enforcment may see this as a fundraising opportunity...but it's legal! |
The only reason she was elected the first time was because every one came out of the republican primary bleeding by the bucket, and they split the vote. No way she gets re-elected in Kansas. CO Edit for speeling. |
It is but it isn't there is no law that says it's illegal, and there is no law that says it is legal. So with the vagness of the disorderly conduct statute, you can and will be cahrged with DC for open carry. I've heard it from a Madison cop and Milwaukee cop that it's Dept. policy to arrest, ticket whatever for DC for open carry. |
The Dems have been screwing the good people of the state of Wisconsin for a long time. They want to turn it into Illinois North.
Ed you think like me. I used to open carry 100% of the time after the Minnesota CARRY law was passed. I was harrassed way too much and only do it about 50% of the time. |
Too damn many college students and teachers in madison, combining with the jackasses from IL who move "up nort" FIBS. |
Come on down to Madison and show us how it's done. I'll chip towards bail. |
Yah I'll pitch in for bail too, but just remember, they will take the gun too and you probably won't see it ever again, so broing a shitty gun you don't give a shit about. |
How asinine. |
that's wisconsin's carry laws in a nutshell. At least there's a range protection act and local pre-emption. Two day waiting period also needs to go, though. |
Why don't you do like they did in Ohio. Have peaceful open carry walks. They can't arrest large groups of people, they don't have any way to deal with them. Sorry to see this happen. I know it sucks. |
Funny hting about that. I brought it up here a while back, AdrianUSP9 busted his ass and put together the proposal and shopped it to the various pro-CCW groups in the state. WCCA said they'd do it, then they didn't do a damn thing with it. I'd like to do it, but not alone because I don't have the money to fight the charge if I get busted for DC for open carry and with a large group it would be less likely that anyone would get busted for DC or anything else.. |
Almost a party line vote. That's why I'll vote for the clown with the elephant.
I am not at all surprised as it is exactly what I expected.
The answer is get rid rid of that socialist POS Doyle. Focus your efforts on that guys. Some of the pols are just playing both sides against the middle. No change from previous. All I know is that if some cocksucker tries arresting me for carrying, open or otherwise, the lead is going to fucking fly. I ain't going in for shit. Now that is not much of a concern where I live as I open carry all the time so I can talk all the shit I want but my kids are raised and I am at a point in my life and with my gov't where I am just flat out done taking shit from anyone. And I practice all the time. For the dickbreath who whined about giving gunowners a bad name I say this: You whiny bitches are always concerned someone else utilizing their rights are going to cost you your's. The only thing that will cost you your rights is your lack of balls and, as such, I couldn't give a shit less about you or your fucking rights. You are a nonmale, a non entity as far as I am concerned. Just one more sheeple bleating in unison with the rest. You deserve neither respect nor disdain, only to be sheared and slaughtered. |
It is a $300 dollar fine in MN, cannot be much worse in WI, It would be worth it if several hundered people got involved. |
That sucks, sometimes you cant just ask for rights |
So what's the situation look like as far as keeping power in the senate next year? Someone said 20 republicans are retiring. I assume that's across bouth houses?
GASP!!! Break the law, oh my God. Doesn't he know the government knows what's best for us, how dare he question them. |
IIRC thats accross both houses, but I don't know if thats just repubs, If I understood Tommytrauma right it's repubs. I won't know to much till the end of febuary when I get a chance to talk to one of the Repubs thats running for an assembly seat here in Racine. |
I'm not giving anyone a bad name. I'll be damned if some fuck sticks a gun to my head or a knife to my throat again without me being able to defnd my life. Tell ya what if we ever meet remind me to show you the nice little scar I have on my leg from catching a bullet in college. Sometimes you have to determine if following a bad law is worth your safety, in my opinion, my safety and the safety of my family is more important then following a law that is a bad law. |
I've been thinking about carrying for 2 years already. Fuck it.
Ahem.... yea |
That sucks, even NY has CC though it is a littel bit of a process. Keep trying.
AMEN! |
I think like DrJarHead does.
Here, in Idaho, guys still have rifles in gun racks during hunting season. Everybody is armed and I hope it stays that way. I feel your pain WI guys. Not much you can do until you get those scumbags outta office. Where's the NRA when you need them? These elected morons are not following the Constitution. Fer law trumps state law unless Fed law doesn't cover state law.......duhhh |
